Thomas Dimitroff Needs To Be Fired

Recommended Posts

Quote

Thomas Dimitroff came to the Atlanta Falcons in 2008 and since he has been the general manager the Atlanta Falcons have been up or down in terms of success. Two coaching staffs later only one common denominator remains and that is Thomas Dimitroff. The Falcons are currently 5-9 with a horribly constructed roster that hasn’t been coached to the best of its ability.

This article will be focusing on Thomas Dimitroff and how he has constructed the Atlanta Falcons from top to bottom.

In the offseason, the Atlanta Falcons signed guards Jamon Brown and James Carpenter both of whom struggled on their former teams and weren’t retained. $39.75 million between them and they both have been relegated to 3rd string.

It was reported that the underperforming Guard James Carpenter has been placed on injured reserve which completes this as another failed signing on Dimitroffs watch.  Wes Schweitzer (who was drafted in the 5th round in 2016) has come in and played better than Carpenter has all season in a short amount of time. There have been multiple signings that hindered the Falcons ability to improve over the years.

Last offseason was a nightmare, but the roster is far from poorly constructed.  We have a roster capable of making a deep playoff run next year.

And this gets glossed over by the stateline crowd. Of course there are going to be mistakes (Carp/Brown/Stocker) but there are PLENTY of successes. The core of a team that should have won the SB in 2016, and made a respectable playoff run in 2017 are all still here. You're not going to have a ton of cap space when you draft well.

WE NEED A PROPER OC.

He gets a lot of hate because because he has not been held accountable for NOT building the trenches on BOTH sides of the ball. I don’t see us making any playoff runs unless we become formidable in the front lines and it hasn’t happened his entire tenure.

Since Thomas Dimitroff was hired in 2008, the falcons are tied for 8th best winning percentage in the regular season out of all 32 teams. Only New England, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Baltimore, Green Bay, and Seattle are better. The point? The Falcons have been a top 10 franchise in the TD era. Guy gets too much hate

Also, it should be noted that every one of the eight teams mentioned have played in a Super Bowl since 2008.

Something else to consider among those eight is since the drafting of Matt Ryan in 2008, only New England, New Orleans, Pittsburgh and Green Bay still have their starting QB's from their 2008 rosters. The other teams, the Giants (Won SB in 2011), and the Chargers with Rivers are the only team not to even make it to a Super Bowl out of this group, so basically, we are one of only seven teams that still has had the same starter since 2008.

To say that TD hasn't had a positive impact on this franchise considering the history has to be blind.

Yep, 12 years and both OL and DL are always a weakness for our teams, time to move on from these weak powder puff teams that always get pushed around

12 yrs of mediocre OL DL

pass rushers have come and gone from other teams and TD has yet to produce pass rushers

plus he has failed to build an OL to protect MR2

just admit we’ve been tripled TROFFED in 12 yrs...the dude can’t do it

Weird how we've made multiple playoff runs then...

I like it good meat head thinking pretending building the lines is the only way to win.

I mean heaven forbid you have a franchise QB in place that’s got nothing to do with winning.

Good meat head just copy the Dallas Cowboys model build the lines win nothing in 12 years lol meat head.

Our fan base has become extremely self entitled and has completely taken Ryan and Dimitroff for granted

I'll take more of the same since 2008 way before I'll take more of the same prior.

I got tired of watching rosters that were never good enough to seal the deal (SB win) years ago. It doesn’t do it for me anymore.

I’m telling you and have said this for years.

Ever since TD and Ryan have been here expectation is gone to another level now that this has been taken to this level fans all of a sudden expect certain things that have never been expected before.

TD is the only Falcons GM since the 70's to have a winning record. I suppose you want to go back to that.

Why are you assuming no guy can come here and keep the wins coming while being a better overall team builder? It’s possible for that to happen.

It's happened to use ONE TIME in how many attempts? You're acting like it's probable. If you were really so tired of losing you'd be a little more appreciative of the last decade.
