Can you guess the coach?

22 posts in this topic

Before we bounce Quinn look how one of the top coaches in the NFL started his career, maybe younger coaches do need a couple of years to figure out how to be a "Head" coach. Can anyone guess who the coach is? AND no it is not BB.

This is why I think continuity is the best remedy here. DQ has been here 5 years. His initial OC left after year 2. His next was fired after 2 years, in which his 2nd year, showed improvement. Now he's on his 3rd in 5 years. What offense establishes a rhythm and actually works consistently with all of that overturn?

It is Pete Carroll. I think with head coaches the longer you do it the better you get, just like any other job you have to learn from your mistakes. This is why I am torn on this DQ situation.  I like all of you want a Super Bowl Trophy but am not blown away by ANY of the current available coaches. I think McCarthy is a knee jerk reaction. If we kept DQ one more year I would definately get him Ed Dodds so we could make sure we hit on linemen, and I would make sure we draft Derek Brown to make sure our d-line was stout going into next year.

So all we have to do is send Quinn down to the NCAA for a decade so he can learn how to coach like Carroll did.

Well, it did work for Carroll....lol.  But, do we have that much time.  Not only that, but as we all know, there's a BIG difference in coaching college football, and coaching in the NFL....so, Quinn would STILL have to start all over again.
Nah, let's just bring in an experienced guy, and someone who has proven he can be a successful coach at this level.  Mike McCarthy comes to mind ---

THIS TEAM WILL NOT EVER WIN A SB WITH DIRK KOETTER CALLING PLAYS

If we know we need to bring in another OC, we may as well just burn down the whole thing.
