To the Tanker Crowd

Recommended Posts

it's just so depressing to watch them win meaningless games that will ensure we have LESS of a chance to get the elite talent we need in the draft.  we'll definitely win at least one more game, which may we put us out of getting the top DE (young), CB (Okudah) or brown.

what's really a shame is if we were say the second or third pick, we could trade back a bit and at least get another second or third rounder for a team desperate for a qb.

because we've signed all those ridiculously high contracts the ONLY way we can become a good team is through a near perfect draft ... I've never been less interested in this team that I've watched faithfully over the years and that's incredibly depressing

it's gonna be OK my friend because it doesn't matter where we draft if TD doing the drafting is gonna suck.

it's funny about TD   true we always suck on the lines with his picks but we also really need our key players he picked up in the draft   should we not have picked up Julio and ridley?  what i'm getting at is just how **** hard it is to build a championship team.  you've got to have the off and def line but also highly talented running backs, receivers, etc. also it's inevitable that the really good players get old and decline.   It's like we need 3-4 first rounders to fill all our freakin holes!  I'm not sure any GM can come in and fix this team, esp. with all our high priced contracts

we never have enough money to bring in many FAs and I think that's a part of the problem.

I guess I'm pretty hopeless over the next couple years and I just never felt that way before.  losing interest in the NFL big time but of course I come here and complain bc I still care, dammit

Quitter sissies lmao.

It’s not an alpha vs beta thing dude. It’s being a realist and understanding the statistics behind building a top tier team. Doesn’t matter if you believe in taking the top talent like Young or believe in trading back and finding multiple talents later, regardless of your stance the fact is having a higher pick is extremely beneficial. Imagine if we had Bosa and addressed the offensive line with Jenkins, Ford, Taylor, McCoy. PLUS we still had a 3rd.

The **** it ain't.  Quitting is furthest thing from realism that I can think of.  You need to get your mind right my friend.

You can fill a team with all kinds of gifted & physically talented prospects, but unless you have mentally strong men who'll never roll over for anyone, then you have nothing.

What do you fill your mind with?  I love stories about the human spirit. About never quitting.  I don't think you're a lay down type of guy or anything, but your perspective isn't in the right place i don't think.

This team is still going 4-12. The 49ers game is a foregone conclusion. The Jags are AFC with a good DL, which has been a guaranteed loss under this staff. And the Bucs have our number and are playing at home. We're getting a top 5 pick even with this team not giving up.

The Jags have been playing terrible

Like the brotherhood has built? This team is soft and that starts from the top. Let’s give our next coach the best opportunity to turn the ship around with some impact players.

Two guys who got some crap for applying realism were McCaffery and Nick Bosa. Both “quit” on their college teams. I don’t think anyone in the NFL would consider those two soft or anything but a warrior. They made a smart move that paid off and we can do the same as a team. You don’t ask the guys to lay down. Just fire that piece of poop coach and start as many young guys as possible. Then see how it plays out.

Of course it’s difficult to win a championship, but that’s what you pay a GM for. No team gets multiple first round picks without trading away their future, but this GM does it regularly.  Doing this and resigning declining players to record contracts has doomed this team for years to come.

I hope all of the TD fans can finally see this team is poorly managed. More importantly, I hope AB sees this
