Vic Beasley - What if...

Beasley has quietly been having a solid few weeks w/ something like 4 sacks & 2 FF in the past 5 games.

What if Vic fools around & nets 4 more sacks in the remaining games to finish the year with 10 total?

Do you try to bring him back at that point, or do you let him walk & pray someone else will give him a big deal so we can get a 3rd or 4th round comp pick?

No.  Let him walk.  There is a reason no one wanted him at the trade deadline.  A couple sacks against a bad line and backup QB doesn't change that.

For 6-7 million I absolutely would bring him back.  He is at his best as a situational rusher..he is an elite edge rusher when the offense builds a nice lead

I still think vic is a solid DE although not 13 mil solid.  If we can get him back for around  4 to 5 mil or so im all for it. HE makes enough plays every year to be effective enough to help a team.   If he wants anything more than that though he can walk and we should replace him with someone else.   You can usually expect 5 to 6 sacks a season from vic and a few splash plays with a FF or 2 and some ok coverage at times.  He might not be a 1st round top 5 pick talent where he was drafted but he is not garbage either.   Wouldn't mind seeing him under a new coach and new defensive scheme either to see if that helps him at all.

I will keep him at 5-6 million because he is serviceable at that price and he is actually having a decent season so far. He is just not worth the $13 million tag- he owes the Falcons and he wants to stay as a Falcon. A good finish will give him more mojo to come back next year and play even better.

Bustley needs to go, imo.  Once he gets "paid" he'll revert right back to where he was, whether it's here or somewhere else!  Today, and the last few games, he was auditioning for another team, 'cause I think he KNOWS his time as a Falcon is limited ----
