Mike McCarthy is probably watching our games and evaluating us knowing he could be our head coach next year.

Weather you like Mike McCarthy or you don't like him one HUGE advantage to hiring Mike McCarthy is he is probably ahead of the game when it comes to evaluating our talent. He's probably watching our offense thinking of what he could do with all the talent. He's probably watching our defense thinking what he could do to improve it.  He probably hopes like crazy he gets the call to become our head coach. He has time to think of who he'd like to bring in as our coordinators. Weather or not he'd prefer to work with Thomas Dimitroff. I would not be surprised if Arthur Blank hasn't low key called Mike McCarthy telling him he's interested in him. All the other potential head coaching candidates are busy and will have to catch up on evaluating our roster.

I both admire and pity anyone that watches our games this year. I stopped after week 4. I’ve seen this one too many times and life is too short to care about things out of my control. 2016 really hit me hard I’m not gonna lie

I still had some hope after 2016. Then in 2017, I slowly started realizing that Shanahan was an even bigger part of our super bowl run then I had hoped.

And now I'm at the most depressing realization I've made as a Falcons fan: Shanahan was the best coach to ever step foot in Atlanta, and we let him walk because we had to stay committed to Dan freaking Quinn.

You and me both,Living here in Swamp land, I get 28-3 thrown up to me all the time. It literally will never stop. They didn't just stick a knife in my heart.....it's still there. But, I try to shake it off and the only way I can personally do that is to not get too wrapped up in it anymore. I love my birds, but at time's, it seems like an abusive relationship. :bang: Plus I have a headache!

I know exactly what you mean. It’s almost like my fandom died tht day. Nothin but “more of the same” to look forward to. We just keep chasing Shannys ghost w these OC’s too. It’s embarrassing. We need a true rebuild and a new slogan and everything. Something to recharge the fans cuz I feel like I already know how next year is gonna turn out. I’m burnt out man

Yeah I got a bunch of saints fans at work for some reason. They only come out during their winning seasons. Buncha *******. Hope we beat em but who cares either way. Lol maybe I should change my name to EMOfalconsfan56.

since he's not working for a team right now, couldn't he go ahead and hire mccarthy if he wanted to, in some role or the other? I mean if his plans are to move dan out, he could go ahead and get him here if that's who he wants.

Blank probably isn't 100 percent sure yet. I hope he's at least got a solid plan B if he thinks Dan Quinn can't turn it around next year.

From what I saw from McCarthy in Greenbay he didn't seem like a coach who really held players accountable and put his foot in ***** when needed to.

Rodgers ran all over him. People blame Quinn on here for not holding players accountable.

I think Matt Ryan would have good chemistry with McCarthy. You can always let the coordinators play the "bad cop" if necessary.

I've missed one game in the last 8 years, not going to stop now because we aren't good.  Only makes the wins that much sweeter.

I'm sure a lot of potential head coaches think they could get this team rolling. It would be a dream job. Plus the opportunity to bring an organization it's very first championship would be exciting.

And the hurt will never be fixed until we are redeemed. We have to win a Super Bowl.

Let's not forget how good we were with Dirk Koetter as an offensive coordinator in 2012. We just need a slightly above average coordinator. Our offensive line and defensive line is a much bigger problem than Koetter.

We couldn't run the ball to save our lives in 2012. And I still didn't like his playcalling even back then. We had a top 5 scoring defense, committed few penalties and won the games we should've won. I'm not gonna romanticize Koetter, even at his best I think we can do better.

Dan Quinn was SUPPOSED to be a defensive mastermind. At the time it was the right decision. Most people hated Shanahan for not running the ball in the super bowl and our defense was making a lot of progress towards the end of 2016.

It's a shame we couldn't get Kubiak.
