6th spot..

Forget Young.  He's already too rich for our blood, and we need more than one hotshot d lineman to fix this team.

Over the next two drafts we're going to need a left tackle, guard, a center (maybe you could move Lindstrom over but then that spot would still need filling), safety, linebacker, running back.  I sure never thought we'd be so weak at linebacker this soon, but here we are.

I mean, this is not a one-draft fixit scenario.  This is a team with holes in every area.

This is the right year to trade down,

Pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd. Go Center in the first (Tyler Biadasz), go Lber in the second (Kenneth Murray), and Rb with the extra seconds (Keshawn Vaugn), and Kristian Fulton (Cb). This isn't the year to take another DE as those are crap after Young and Epenesa are gone. Take DE in FA.

We need to avoid taking another pure pass rushing DE in t he 1st, how many times do we need to make the same mistakes over and over again? Trade down, stock up on large guys on the interior DL and continue working toward fixing the OL. With a better interior DL we will have more sacks, with a better OL we can run the ball and switch time of possessions keeping our defense fresh.

Washington needs a LT as do the Giants.

Washington and Giants also need WR.  Whichever doesn’t get LT may very well go WR...

Wishful thinking...

Those fool’s gold wins coming back to haunt us yet again.  At this point we all better start getting Derrick Brown jerseys made...which isn’t a bad thing, but it ain’t Chase Young.

Chase Young is a pipe dream at this point. Only way is if we lose out and 2 QBs and maybe a OT go before him. Then we may be in range to move up to 4, considering a team would be dumb enough to trade down and not just take him themselves.

I Just hope we find an elite player at either DE, DT, FS, LB or CB with our pick. All could greatly improve the team.

I don’t see OL at this pick with what’s invested already, unless they plan to move Lindstrom to C and cut bait w Mack, and cut Brown and/or Carpenter.

i see guys like Epenesa, Brown, Okuda, Delpit and Simmons as real possibilities though.

Tua getting injured really put Young out of reach for us.  I think the highest we can get up would be to 4.  We’re not leap frogging Bengals (QB), Dolphins (QB), Skins (LT).  If it played out like that we’d sprint to the podium while the last pick is still hugging Goddell.  With Tua injured it’s possible the Dolphins entertain trade talks for someone that wants Young, or they just take him outright.

Gonna have to punch a baby,

We have to stop with shiny hood ornaments, and get to the meat and potatoes of a football team which is the OL / DL. Alex Mack is very old 34 yrs and can't play forever. Our G (Lindstrom is coming back from injury), while our RT is a rookie and still looks suspect. This is ignoring the fact that Matthews looks like dog poop. We can use the money we will get from cutting Mack, Freeman, and a few other vets to sign an impact DE/DT in FA.

No way on earth am I for trading draft capital to move up for a pass rusher as people are suggesting on the interwebs. If he falls, that’s fine, but our cap demands we invest in young, cheap bodies. Giving away picks is counterproductive.

Otherwise, our wheel house is likely Okudah or Brown. I suspect if that’s the case, we might look to trade down a few spots and maybe choose between players like Kinlaw, or Epinesa instead, and snag another pick.

No problem with d lineman. I agree I don’t want to see another skill player drafted for along time. DLINE ALL DAY!
