Could the Saints go 1-5 while we go 6-0 and give us the division?

Well, I was just playing with ESPN's Playoff Machine and it would take an act of God, but there is a chance the Falcons make the playoffs at 9-7 as a wild card. It would also take the Eagles, Bears, Vikings and Rams finishing at 9-7 too. Somehow the tiebreaks would put the Falcons in the #6 seed in this scenario playing at the #3 seed Saints in the playoffs.

just sweep the division, keep the new coaching changes, go all-in on the trneches, and we will be in the NFCCG next year

Wonder what it would take for us to wriggle in at 8-8??

If I'm not mistaken, there are already two wc teams with 8 wins.

We aren't going to the playoffs.

I'm 100% done with DQ. Two years of waiting until it's too late to start winning is plenty.

For us to win the division, the Saints would need to go 1-5 (or 0-6) to finish 2019 while we go 6-0.

Their remaining schedule:

vs Carolina - could Kyle Allen have a rebound game?

at Atlanta - under our control and would have the tiebreaker if both of us finish 9-7

vs. San Francisco - certainly a hard game and maybe Shanahan owes us one?

vs. Indianapolis - they beat us and they are actually at the top of the AFC South

at Tennessee - a road game but might be their easiest one remaining

at Carolina - I really fear us wishing this week that Carolina is not playing 2nd string

Carolina also has to not go 6-0 during their remaining games but we would give them 1 loss in a few weeks when we beat them and they could still go 4-1 in their other 5 games and still lose the division to us on tiebreakers.  They still have Seattle and Indianapolis to possibly provide the one loss (or lose one to New Orleans as long as New Orleans loses its other 5).

What would really be great is if the NFC South finishes as a 3-way tie at 9-7 between Carolina, New Orleans and us but only us actually getting to the playoffs (NFC West runner up-Seattle/San Francisco and NFC North runner-up-Green Bay/Minnesota would be wild cards)

I love your enthusiasm. No.

The Bucs had a chance to kick the Saints when they were down. Winston served them Free Crab Legs, and told them to pick 6.

Kyle deserves part of the credit in San Francisco. That defense is good though. I will say this about the organization. When they have down years, they draft well. Even during the Singletary years.

This would make the Saints ask for another rule change in the NFL.

The Falcons would need more than just "Someone" to slip up. The Falcons would not only need to run the table, but (as of today) they'd also need the Vikings who are 8-3, and the Seahawks who are 8-2 to completely collapse; meaning they can't win another game as both hold a tie-breaker over Atlanta. Then, you have the Eagles and Rams, both of which have a better record than the Falcons to keep losing as well. This scenario will never even come close to playing out. It's not even realistic to think the Falcons can win out.

Yeah.....I guess that’s the reality of playing as lousy as we did.  We could’ve survived the afc losses but rams, Vikings and Seahawks killed us in a year where nfc is a bit better. I just hope the owner and team are finally seen that all this bs tweaking was really as bad if not worse than cleaning house on staff.  Sickening.....,and will only be more so if we win out.   Guess we can claim bragging rights over aints if we can win Thanksgiving.

Unlikely, but possible. Either way, that would be a all time lmao moment if the Saints collapsed now.

It would be epic and sweet but it still couldn’t top what our assclowns pulled off in LI.

As unlikely as it is, I could truly see it happening. The wildcard in this would be: can Carolina not get swept and/or can Tennessee pull off a big win since they still have a shot in their division as well. Of course we would have to go on that run. My guess is, Aints finish 3-3 by sweeping Carolina.

Even if we beat them and the 49ers beat them...

They are not losing to Carolina either game, Indy or Tennessee. 12-4.

Don't forget the Cardinals. We should have beat them, the Seahawks, and the Colts. We actually started playing good the second half of the Seahawks game.

This just ain't the year to sneak in at 8-8 or even 9-7. You have 3 strong teams in the West and two in the North. At least two teams out of the group including San Fran, Seattle, the Rams, GReen Bay, and Minny would have to COMPLETELY collapse. As would Carolina. AND, we have to run the table.

Sorry guys. We may have finally gotten our **** together, but we've made too many mistakes, and it's too late in the season.

If this team was 4-6, then I'd have a glimmer of hope, but 9-7 is not going to do it. Maybe the silver lining is that the players and coaches gain a lot of confidence and learn a valuable lesson going into next season. Maybe this team will be hungry and not complacent at the start of the 2020 season. Maybe this defense can play even better than it currently is going into next season. I myself think that the team will play better next year provided they can build off of what is happening now. I'm not sure that radical changes need to happen in order for this team to reach the top, they just need to learn from this season, and not repeat the same mistakes, and maybe find a way to add some complementary pieces.

We are not going to make the playoffs. It would take a miracle. Is it possible? Sure. Mathematically there is a small chance. But we all know this season was lost in the first half.

I am just enjoying seeing us play good football. I am taking it all in and if we can keep this up for the remainder of the year, I think you keep this staff, improve the roster in the offseason and give them one more year to turn it around and make the playoffs next year. No playoffs and DQ is gone.

If that miracle was to happen, and we make it in, y'all quote this post and make me out to be a fool. I will love it.

No, they play the Panthers twice. Did you see that team yesterday? They wont win 2 more games all year.

Tbh, our best shot at the playoffs was the Broncos upsetting the Vikings. They were up 20-0. The Falcons killed any chance they had outside of that long ago.

I started looking at our odds at that moment and came back to earth after they came back.

Some of you guys are completely delusional.  Neither one of these scenarios is happening.

Nobody said they were happening. Just that until the Falcons are officially mathematically eliminated there's no reason not to win!!

The Saints will lose to the Titans and I give the Colts a good chance to beat them. But they'll win both games against the Panthers.
