Soroka Finishes 2nd in Rookie of Year Race

The Atlanta Braves season ended in terrible fashion. Despite this, the team has a great foundation for several deep postseason runs for many years to come. A big reason staff ace Mike Soroka! He finished second to Mets first basemen Pete Alonso for NL rookie of the year.
While, it’s not a surprise that Alonso won smashing a rookie record 53 home runs driving in 120 runs and just being a general nightmare for opponents every night. Soroka had an incredible season quickly establishing himself as one of the best pitchers in baseball at the tender age of 21. He posted a record of 13-4 record with 2.68 ERA. The numbers are eyepopping on their own, but as we dig deeper you have a Gregg Maddux doubleganger.
