FalconsFanSince194eva
After being on both sides of the fire Dan Quinn debate I think I have finally settled. I hope we go 7-9 to 9-7 so Dan Quinn can keep his job. Yes I know please put the pitch folks and fire torches down for one second. The reason I don’t want Dan Quinn gone is because I think he can still lead us to a Super Bowl and some continuation would do good for the Falcons roster. I think having the same trio of coaches at Hc, Oc, and Dc could help us next year, rather than throwing it all away and starting over. Maybe after this awful start Dan learned not to try and get pretty and just let the players play. Now if we only finish with 5 wins or less Dan Quinn needs the boot. On another note I don’t care what our number in the draft is. We need Chase Young and last Sunday showed why. So I hope we do what we have to do to pick him up. As long as TD and the entire scouting staff are fired then I guess I could be okay with this. I feel TD and Quinn are a package deal though, so I would like to still clean house. However, if we rattle off a bunch of wins to finish out the season I could see Quinn staying.... Refried Beans

You aren't answering the question...and I am not jumping to any conclusions. You compared jumping for Julio. Jumping for Julio required a TON of draft capital. Draft capital that until this win over the Saints, was coveted by these boards to help fill all the holes we have on defense. Do those holes that were there prior to this week still exist or not? Nothing smart *** about it. Flying Falcon, sandtrap, TheUsualStuff and 3 others

My biggest issues this year has been Freeman, our Ds scheme and lack of effort from many players. 2. Putting me in the same category as other people is jumping to conclusions. 3. Im not in the group that believes the more picks the better. I rather get one All Pro player than 5 journeymen players. I think Young has floor of a pro blower and a ceiling of an All Pro, so yes I think it's worth throwing some picks to get him. No need to throw a hissy fit because you don't like what im saying my guy.

That's fair, I do understand DQ maybe be the black hole of mediocrity and to me that's worst than just being awful. But for the teams sake I hope they turn it around so we aren't having a revolving door of coaches again. So if you knew Chase Young could have a Mack or Miller type of career you would sell some draft picks? NorthGaBoy
I think this is something to think about and could develop into an interesting conversation. Let's stop talking about one another (posters) and talk about the Falcons. I hope DQ sticks. I think we can move up for Chase Young. There is a big price to be paid, but it is all about Return on Investment. I have for years thought it was a good idea to trade all of the picks from the fourth round on to higher rounds. There is so much better RoI in the first few rounds. Problem is all 32 teams know that. Gotta catch a GM drunk to get that one. But, we can package something up to move up for Chase if we really want to. We have a very talented team. We do not and have not had numerous holes. We have had game plan issues. A team does not go from uncompetitive to what we saw against the Saints with a poor roster. I do not study the game closely enough to analyze what made the difference last Sunday, but I am confident it proved our problem has not been player talent. Yes, Falcons, win every game you can and build for next season. FalconsFanSince194eva

Let me re-ask to get this train back on the tracks... - Do the holes in the roster that existed prior to Sunday, specifically on the defensive side of the ball, still exist? - If they do, what are the holes in your opinion? This goes to the point that if we finish where you mentioned, we will have to sell the farm (probably) to move up to a position to grab Chase Young (who I love btw but who doesn't?) Yes, Falcons, win every game you can and build for next season. Yeah I agree with you 100%, i just don't value 4th round picks and beyond as much as other people. Yes there are the Brady's and and Grady's but that doesn't happen too often. Even though we probably aren't making the playoffs I'm still excited to see where the team goes the second half. Will Quinn show Mr.Blank he deserves one more season, or are we starting over again next year. If we do start over I really hope its everyone, not just the coaches. Such a waste of potential talent for one "potential" player. So many here thought Beasley would be great and he only cost 1 pick. Can you imagine if we wasted 6 high picks for a bust? Already he's apparently made a wrong choice that's got him suspended. We don't need a walk on water player when we have so many holes. Just need a better GM to do the picking, jmo. I never said we had major holes. So no I do not think they exist. Now do I think we need an upgrade in some places? Yes I do, mainly the d-line. I think we need a stud DE to replace Beasley, and one more fatboi at DT. I think our linebackers are good enough, maybe we need to replace Campbell, but im willing to hold off on him until the end of the season, and if we can rush the passer with a good D our Dbacks can hold their own in man coverage. On the offense of side I think we still have two years of Mack, and we need a swing guard. For running backs I don't know, I think Freeman is done, but I don't have an opinion on Hill and Ito is a change of pace back that will probably end of up concussed out the league sooner than later. Everyone else is good to go on the O side of the ball in my eyes. I am fine selling the farm for a guy I think is proven. I don't want another Jahlen, Hageman, Wes, Duke, etc. It's an gamble because we might sell the house for a bust, but at least they tried. If they don't go down that route I understand and I'll still root for whomever we pick but I just think Young is really special.

The majority seemed to think we had holes at all levels on the defense. I guess my only point is, there are no "proven" draft picks. Picks miss as often as they hit, if not more...so I am leary of giving up a ton for anyone. If the price is right, I am down...just have to see where we finish and what it would cost. Man taking some money doesn't mean a thing. All superstar college players do it some just get caught. That's a good counter argument an hard to dispute, but at the end of the day sometimes you just have to go get your player. I think if we did move up and Chase has 13+ sacks, 30+ QB hits and 50+ pressure no one will really care.
