Ozzie Newsome for GM

Would love him to come here and fix this team. Blank will probably have to throw him a bunch of money to get him out of retirement which he loves doing, so... Make it happen.

As retreads go, Reggie Mckenzie would be better. He set a good foundation in Oakland and has experience shopping for a West Coast offense in Green Bay.

Wouldn't happen but if it did, Newsome would have to come in to Flowery Branch and gut the whole thing out.  He builds physical, tough teams.

Would be a great hire. He always knew how to draft savvy and built physical teams. We’re weak and soft. The whole team would be have to be gutted aside from Grady, and a few others

Burn out no doubt.

When did he retire though? He stepped down as GM but is still with the organization as a scout. Him stepping down was a 5 year plan.

Stepped aside

Call it what you will.

Reading some articles on it his drafting has been spotty the last few years.Maybe the pressure is getting to him.

Highest paid scout in the league.

Don’t know to be honest but they have been grooming an understudy so it just maybe a sideways move to smooth the transition and then to move on after a given time.

Yeah, he's going to stay long enough for DeCosta to have everything going smoothly. As soon as he can after that he's heading to the barn methinks.

We need a younger organization in the front office, our scouts, OC, DC, and Team President. Our current group would be great if it was 2006. The schemes we are running are dated and predictable and the identity is messed up. It shows that you have a bunch of dinosaurs trying to inject their 2 cents into a younger coach. Falcons need to get with the times. TD- Team President to handle contracts ONLY, Ed Dodds- GM. McKay, Webster, Emry, and Sabo out the door. If you want to pop Quinn that's fine but hire a young OFFENSIVE minded coach, no retreads.  Play good defense and start utilizing your QB as a threat not just in the air but on the ground, with roll outs, Time for a Falcons face lift.  Newsome was great in 2006.

Will McClay- Dallas

Joe Douglas- Philly

Ed Dodds- Indy

All better choices than Newsome. Newsome is too old. We have enough Geritols in Flowery Branch, we look like NFL nursing home. You ever seen passion and excitment in a nursung home? Exactly Falcons front office is too OLD. Out with the old (McKay, Webster, Emry, Sabo) and in with the new. I bet Blank can still party. Wake him up and let's win this thing!

IN A HEARTBEAT... I don’t care if he’s on his deathbed. If it wants the job it’s his.

He used to tell his scouts “don’t bring me anyone who can’t tackle.” Amazing the bar is so low that that actually excites me. <_<

Well he’ll be disappointed then because crap tackling lives in the nfl regardless.

You want to fix tackling go back to pop warner levels and start there.
