How long will the rebuild and restructure take!

10 posts in this topic

I’m going to try to simplify this

2019—Quinn, Dimotroff, Gone! New Coach/GM hired! Scouting department restructured, New Coach takes full control of drafting responsibilities

2019 Ryan Traded for 1st and 3rd round pick, Julio Jones traded for 1st and 2nd, 4th And 5th round pick. Sanu traded for a 3rd and 7th rounder! Freeman cut, Beasily traded for a hotdog cart!

2020 Draft Falcons enter with the overall # 1 pick plus two other selections in the first round! They also have a stockpile of other picks in other rounds, more than any falcons draft ever!

A new young QB is taken with one of the first rounders! The First pick in the draft goes for the best overall edge rusher/DL the other lst rounder for the best Available Offensive lineman!

Another 50 years.

That’s brutal but quite possibly true. With a new coaching staff and front office. 1 to 3 seasons. Because if a new crew comes in that’s about maximum of what they’ll get. If no success then another...

If you're talking about the next time we become Super Bowl contenders, probably the 2022 season or 2028 season, assuming the 16 game schedule rotation remains. Maybe 2024 but I doubt it. With the horrible salary cap situation we're in right now, at minimum won't be until 3 seasons from now. It's not like 2007 going into 2008 or 2015 going into 2016 when we had a lot of cap space coming off some terrible seasons this time. Most franchises who return to the Super Bowl do it with a completely different roster, coaching staff, GM, and owner compared to the previous time they were there, unless you're a dynasty.

This team has way to many holes. Too many bad picks (seriously only 5 sacks). It would take a perfect draft and perfect FA signings and this doesn't even add any depth. By the time, they get this done Ryan and Julio will be near the end of their careers. It could take them another 50 years to find a QB after that.
