Falcons Cap Problem

21 posts in this topic

Yeah we are screwed. Falcons will be rolling out the same offense for the next few seasons.

Unfortunately it is not just a coaching issue why the offense isn't performing.

It’s a very big part of it.  There are holes for sure, but the play calling is making everyone look worse than they really are.  There is no creativity in the play calling.

Agreed, creativity died when Shanahan left.

This has been covered a lot. It’s Actually quite easy with some cuts and restructures to get north of 30-$40 million

Well if we have the opportunity to Draft Tua, then one cut or trade will net us 35 million.

We are in rebuild mode anyways.

There’s not a single move we could do that would give us 35 million in cap space in 2020

If we are picking that high, we better go chase young or a dominant corner.  Tua isn’t going to over come our defense giving up 32 points a game either.

Coaching is 75% of the offense’s issues, the rest being OL.

Restructuring non stop is what has gotten us into the current cap situation.

It’s the nature of the business. You pay guys and if you want to keep them you restructure to pay other guys for a better team supposedly. Doesn’t always work depending on who gets paid

Lol man I just wish you guys would really look into what trading Matt Ryan would do to our cap. You can’t ignore dead cap money. Which would be 65 million worth in the case of trading Ryan

Exactly. This dream of Tua just needs to be left alone. He's not even that great of a prospect.

My understanding is dead money can be transferred via trade for cash considerations.

These people are clueless with dead cap space.  At all.  I guarantee majority don't even know what dead cap is...

This has become an equal part coaching and players league.  You need players, but talent alone is not enough as we have learned over the past few years
