andrews31cain21 Posted October 20, 2019 Share Posted October 20, 2019 ..."so its near the end of 2016 and its obvious the Falcons are ruling the land, and Kyle S, will be given a head coaching job....so Q gives me a call, and tells me KS will probably be getting a HC job after the season and that he wants to keep the same offense in place, so he is looking at LaFLeur or McDaniels as replacements as they know the system... me knowing that would not be good, i encourage Q to hire Steve Sarkisian, and told him he could easily learn KS offense, and they would'nt miss a beat...(just throwing something out there)... next thing i know... I'm sitting in my office watching NFL Network, and I see that Q hired Sark as OC... I almost choked on my Gum...my staff come in laughing and high fiveing me... obivously the year didnt go as planned for Q... he calls me in the off season and tells me he thinks this is the wrong hire, and going to fire Sark.... thinking on my feel i tell Q... well if you are going to fire Sark, i want to hire him as my OC...please let me know.......... the next day, it appears on NFL Network that the Falcons are keeping Sark...my crew comes in....high fives me..gives me 2 cases of dentyne gum we are loving life.... the Falcons are no longer our threat............. after another dysmal year record wise, but one of the best years Matt Ryan has had... i was scared that one more year and Sark would have the Falcons unstoppable.... then right after the season Q calls me...he is scared..he is desperate.....changes need to be made, but he feels like Sark has got the Offense balling... knowing i had to knick this in the bud, I told Q, Sark is holding you guys back....Ryan is balling DESPITE Sark....then i tell him... Dirk Koetter will push you guys over the hump and your O will be unstoppable... a few days later i see Sark was fired, and Koetter was hired.....i once again choked on my gum and my assistant had to do a finger sweep to remove my gum... once i came to, and was obvious I didnt have any brain truama, we all laughed and had a party... Especially just needing a yard to win it all, but I wonder if the Birds were slinging it late (when it was risky and completely unnecessary) to get Ryan the SB MVP instead of Jarrett (who deserved with with all the sacks), or if Shananigan was just showing off (even though he already had his next job in hand). Regardless, given the history of this franchise, not being locked in on playing it safe and winning at all costs with that huge lead was historically F'n stupid, and I would have fired Quinn that night.
