2_legit_2_legit_2_quit
So after Quinn gets fired, we still basically have the same trash team. we still have corners that get beat regularly and are afraid to make content. We still have a DLine that can’t get a finger on a QB. We have a no 1 running back that is past his prime. Same for the kicker and go ahead and throw in the need for a punter. Seriously, aren’t we looking at a rebuild? Stray Dog THA GAWD

Snafu
Wouldnt consider it a full re-build since we have solid core pieces in place. Maybe a defensive rebuild. We need 2 DE's, DT, a CB and a SS On offense all we really need is a RB. Flyin' In DC, CTann, Ovie_Lover and 1 other

With what money is this team going to build a defense when the offensive cap just keeps rising every year because of hamstrung contracts of over the hill players? We can cut loose Freeman, Sanu (Not dead weight but a necessary cut), Bailey, Stocker, Schaub, Jamal Carter, Alex Gray, Richie Brown, Taveze Calhoun. They could also eat the $4M dead cap for a Trufant June 1st cut to save $11 Million in CAP. All these things give us $30M in projected cap space next year. Re-sign Hooper and grace + money for draft class, and we'll have enough for a couple of Nice FA signings. Just gotta nail a solid defensive draft like in 2016 (easier said than done though). I think it's entirely possible to field a formidable defense next season, especially if we get a legit DC. If we are in a position to draft Chase Young, it'll be a fantastic step forward. Sun Tzu 7
Wow. I am getting old. 2007 was 12 years ago. For those that think this is going to be a monumental rebuild.... go back and remember/look up the end of 2007 to the start of 2008. The team had an established pass rusher and one LB. That was it. This is nothing compared to that. Only after the impressive coaching job by Mike Smith do we look back and say oh we also had this guy and that guy. Going into 2008 the cupboard looked bare. JeffAtl
This is not a trash team. The defense does needs restocking; the next coaching staff can do that in one off-season and improve upon that in the next. The hardest pieces to fill are already in place. Soon as Ryan is gone along with his padded stats we may actually be able to sign a qb thats interested in winning I hope that you're aware that just next year, the going rate for even middling franchise quarterbacks will be $35 million to $40 million per year. Just like with Aaron Rodge's previous contract, what looked like an exorbitant contract in year 1 was a discount-bin bargain in year 4. Ryan is, with competent coaching, an excellent quarterback. With the right scheme, he can be an MVP-level quarterback. Matt Ryan's contract is not the problem for our team, and it certainly won't be a problem just a year or two from now. Julio Jones' contract, however, is much more likely to be an issue. A ridiculous cap-percentage is just the price of business in today's NFL. However, market-setting deals at WR and RB are pitfalls we have fallen into. Geneaut, Ergo Proxy, TNFalcon1 and 1 other

I'm not even convinced of this. I am fully open to the possibility that we have good players mired in a bad, stubborn coaching quagmire. I would not be surprised in the least if a DC who doesn't have his head doing a self-colonoscopy draws up a scheme that maximizes the strengths and minimizes the weaknesses of the players on our current defensive roster.
