Glad it's working out for them so far. Hope they can make some noise in the AFC West and the AFC in general

Gruden has always been a genius, I know he has his detractors here but I wish we had hired him. Maybe we can get his brother after Dairy Queen and his cream puffs are gone. A combination of Gruden and Rex Ryan would be amazing.

AT this point Id be willing to trade anybody not named Grady Julio or Deion...….. Hmmmm Ryan to the Dolphins for 2 firsts- Draft Tua and build the Defense via Ryan's salary.

I think that would be optimal. Heck I would even trade Ryan for their 1st and 2rd. You take Tua and Chase young, and trade up the 2 2nds to take swift. We would have a Great offense right away, and building blocks on the DL with young, takk, and Jarret.

Gruden a Super Bowl with the D Tony Dungy built. What did he do after that?

How long did dungy try and fail with the same team?

I watched almost every buccs game from the Dung-y tenure and he failed because his team couldn't field a competent offense. Gruden retooled that offense with Brad Johnson, Pittman, and McCardell. He was also winning in Oakland.

This team does not do things like that, we really should start playing guys on the becnh to see what we have and try and trade guys like Freeman and Vic if it's possible.

EVERYONE knows Quinn is done, time to start prepping for the next coaching unit here.

We need to keep- Ryan, D. Jones, Jarrett, Hooper, JJ, Ridley everyone else should be on the trade block.

That was 17 years ago. Everyone is entitled to another chance. It's sad that Super Bowl wins are the only things that define coaches

Funny thing is Dungy needed Peyton to win his first Lombardi, he was one of those coaches that always had a crappy offense. Andy Reid ate his lunch almost every year.

I'd hate to see what's said about Andy Reid if Super Bowls are what we judge them by. Reid was the NFCCG king. Probably going to become the AFCCG king

It’s the other way, Tony Dungy gave Manning a better D in 2006 playoffs. Statistically the SB year for Manning wasn’t as good as other years when he lost in playoffs. Bottom line it’s a team game and Dungy built that team in Tampa.

The trade worked for Raiders so well, this is what is in the article. They are right behind Falcons and Dolphins in pass rush/ pass defense. Congrats Jon Gruden, your defense is better than Falcons and Dolphins.

While Oakland was able to avert the Khalil Mack revenge game by getting the ball almost immediately out of Carr's hands, it still misses the star pass-rusher. While it ranks sixth in rush defense DVOA and fifth in turning opposing rush attempts into tackles for loss, the Raiders are 26th in pass defense DVOA and 30th in Total QBR allowed. They're ahead of only the Falcons and Dolphins in the latter category.

They also ran 30th in pressure rate, and in what is probably not a coincidence, the only two teams that trail Paul Guenther's defense in pressure rate happen to be the very same Falcons and Dolphins.

Reid actually has a HOF coaching resume. I think he's 7th in all-time coaching wins. He will be tied with Schottenheimer for 6th if he wins this weekend, which I find hilarious for obvious reasons.

All Andy needs is a ring to put himself as one of the best NFL HCs of all-time not named Belichick, Shula, Noll, or Walsh and Landry.

He's already starting on that AFCCG resume, but Reid will be about 90 before he'll surpass Belichick for king lol.

Good ole Shotty. I wish he would have made it to at least 1. Sadly today's Chargers teams can't produce when it counts either

And Gruden gave them that final push to get into the Super Bowl....

Where they faced a team that was running his exact offense that Gruden knew in and out..... You want to talk about the ultimate inside man....

Not only did Tampa's Defense have the Raiders offensive playbook.  They had the guy that wrote the playbook and coached everyone on the offense in how to run it.

To be honest, I think the rug was pulled off from under Marty too early during his time with the Chargers. I think he could've very well won a SB with an even more experienced Rivers at QB.

AJ Smith should've been fired as GM. Not Schottenheimer as HC.

Yeah he did give him a better defense but that was already a perennial 10 win team, and peyton is still peyton. he just needed an above average defense.
