Chuck Smith on Falcons lack of pass rush

I saw an article once showing how many people he has been "neck deep in working with" and the list wasn't very impressive...at all...almost like it was more the player being outstanding than Chuck Smith teaching them anything.

Player, yes.  I'm talking about from this "pass rush specialist" angle everyone keeps building him up over.  If I wasn't dragging booty I would find the list I referenced above.  It was not inspiring.

He builds himself up as all that. I don’t think the football community takes him very serious.

But he was a very good player for us, one of defensive leaders on that 98 SB team.

Von Miller swears by him and even goes over his film with him every year because he's a phony.....right....

There was an article a long time ago where Haynesworth and he went over how they rebuilt him as a passrusher from the ground up. There was a period of a few years where Fat Albert was **** near unstoppable...

Hasn't Beasley worked with him?

Beasley( and others) worked with him (and Kerney) briefly when he came to training camp for a couple of days.

There are other guys in the NFL that don't bench press as much as Vic. There are guys that can't run as fast. There are guys who aren't as athletic.

But those other guys have the want, desire, "dog" and heart that Vic doesn't have. It's either you have it or you don't. Simple as that.

It's a shame his athleticism has gone to waste.

Do you know the number of hours you put in as a coach in the NFL?

During the season you’re working anywhere from 8-14 hour days every day.

Yes, I am pretty sure I addressed that in my post.

You seem very emotional over Chuck Smith...was just a question, bud.

And yet you are the one here making personal attacks, funny how that works...

Plain and simple. DQ thought he could change a man. He learned a valuable lesson. You can't.

You can change a man, Quinn just wasn't the right coach for the job.

I really never thought about Vic that way concerning training camp. That IS disrespectful to DQ AND the “brotherhood”. Especially when a coach mentions you by name as somebody he wants to work with hands on.

I somewhat believe from the piss poor coaching DQ has shown, that's its possible that Beasley didn't want that one on one hands-on training.

May be. He still needed it.

It’s technique and learning and applying leverage more than it is anything. That’s how 250-260 d linemen can bulrush a tackle that outweighs them more than 100 lbs.

Vic has been such a disappointment. I still think it was a great pick. There was nothing at all that made me ever think he wouldn't succeed in the NFL. Dude just doesn't want it enough. I usually keep an eye on him during games and it's crazy how quickly he gives up on plays versus Grady Jarrett. Jarrett never gives up until the whistle.

I've been a big apologist of Beasley's for a while and I finally have to admit that he just doesn't want it. Sadly I think it's going to take him getting cut before he wakes up, if he ever does.

Accusing somebody of being "emotional", simply because they disagreed with your viewpoint and brought receipts, instead of bringing some info of your own, seems kinda cheap.

If you think that the article is fake news/irrelevant you can just say that, it would at least be on topic.
