NFL stats for sacks

The scary part is we seem to getting worse from week to week.

Please bring in a GM or coaching staff that focus on the Dline. Drafting DBs is useless until we can get some sort of pressure on opposing QBs

Just to point out...

Panthers picked up Poe and Irving from and McCoy from Tampa AND then drafted a DE.

They take the dline seriously there

We drafted multiple DBs maybe we thought if we can lock down receivers for 7 to 8 seconds the D line can finally get to the QB

What i for the life of me can't understand is if you look at our D-line top to bottom it's actually pretty deep with players that i think would be good elsewhere and should be getting pressures and sacks.

Beasley, Takk, Grady, Davison, Crawford, Clayborn, Cominsky, Senat, Bailey

Thats honestly not a god awful list of players there and i have seen the majority of them put up some quality work over the years either for us or on other teams.  Just on name recognition alone their should be atleast 10 to 15 sacks with that group of guys if they were on any other team or defense i feel like.  Then you could throw in Campbell and Trufant who over the years have been pretty good blitzers for a sack or 2 it feels like each season.   This rushing 3 and dropping 8 crap just isn't working because for that to work i feel you need 3 legit bad ***** thats like 6'6 285 to 300+ coming in pushing the pocket every play. I don't understand only rushing 3 alot with such small speedy players we have.

The idea here wasn’t sacks, but “getting to the quarterback” and forcing turnovers. I and a couple of others here have said multiple times. You go with getting that neg yardage and a TO is a bonus. This is the same thing Smith tried. It didn’t work.

Just with the 13mil from Beasley we could of had

Poe and Irvin

McCoy and Irvin

McCoy and Ansah (14-15) together

Irvin and Ansah

Personally Irvin, Ansah, and Takk is a nice group. Would need another inside guy possibly but **** man.

I like Davison and he’s been our best pickup by far, but he’s no McCoy. McCoy and Grady would fricking feast on interior o-lines.

Takk is not a good edge guy. He’s actually the same or worse than Beasley. He’s just cheap. Cheap isn’t better, it’s garbage for free.

We need Chase Young. Simple as that. He alone would give us a strong pass rush. Grady is already disruptive. Young will either funnel guys into Grady, or allow Takk to clean up on the other side.

We need to start with Chase Young and keep drafting dline from there...outside of Grady, there are 0 long term answers on the line.

Davison and Allen are nice, but who knows if they come back.

I would do what I can to keep Davison and Bailey. When we do get run stops, those 2 are usually the reason, Davison in particular, other than Grady.

I think Takk can be a good #2 guy opposite Chase. He's just not dominant. I see potential flashes in Takk though.

I wouldn't mind adding Leonard Williams with Grady.

Doesn't matter who we have playing defense until they learn to tackle. If the Falcons could even halfway tackle decently we'd easily have at least 10 more sacks this year.

Give me Derrick Brown. Him and Grady on the inside collapsing the pocket would be incredible!!

Get Brown and Grady in the middle and then add some pass rushers outside. But first stop the run in the middle and that is what Brown and Grady would do.

Beasley has actually been better than Takk this year. But folks like to think Takk is better or a good player because he talks a good game while Beasley is extremely quiet. They both have been horrible this year but Beasley has been slightly better of the two.

Well, this I know but no one is ready for that discussion

TD is probably the worst GM in the league when it comes to DL, how many picks have we wasted over the last 11 years that never panned out? Grady is probably his only real redeeming pick on the DL.

We would really have better luck throwing darts on a draft board of DL prospects then what TD has picked for us.

11 years with TD and we still have a pass rush that looks like it is from a first year expansion team

Don’t mind Davison and Bailey... I’m good with them as rotational guys. Part of the problem on our d line is we have a bunch of specialists and one guy that’s actually a dude. Outside of Grady we don’t have a guy that can effectively play the run and pass.
