Now for the unpopular opinion of the week

While there are clearly issues that need to be adressed.....again.

There were areas that the defense actually improved on.

As a whole I thought that the tackling was much better than in previous weeks....when the cards receivers caught short routes...they generally did not get up field for more yards......the edmonds screen pass and the "where are the defenders in the screen" dump off to Johnson. The falcons did over all a good job getting the receiver down almost immediately.

The coverage as a whole was much better IMO.....the Cardinals had few wide open receivers all game....we had defenders around the ball......even on the fumble that was not called a fumble the coverage was actually pretty good amd with out a perfect throw the ball probably gets knocked down or intercepted by the safety(Rico???)But it was a perfect throw.....sometimes you have to give credit to the other team...they get paid as well.

We are still giving teams too many free first downs via penalty (another drive extending one on third down) and we are still giving up WAY too many chunk yardage plays but there were some actual encouraging things that can be built on.

These bums gave up 35 points to an absolutely lousy team with a first year QB who looked like the second coming of Steve Young, and you say you saw improvement?

Dude are you on the Falcons payroll or something?

You gotta remember this was a 1 win team with a rookie QB and nobody WRs (minus an old Fitz).

going into the game, they had one less loss than us, so from a record standpoint, they were the better team.

Pass rush is still a major problem despite Grady wrecking guys inside, we don’t have finishers at DE.

Tru is out and Sheffield does fine on an aged Fitz.

Something to build on if Sheffield can lock down LCB for next year and we can move on from Tru’s overpaid salary.

There are bright spots but gotta see more meaningful snaps out of young guys. Miller needs to see snaps at RCB if Oliver keeps playing bad but Oliver was in good position on the 2 big plays he allowed. He wasn’t a lost mouse like the previous 2-3 weeks.

Give me a front 7 next year with the DL overhaul coming and Vondre walking. Get insurance for Neal at SS if you keep him on the option for a prove it deal and let’s see a secondary.

One thing that helped coverage in 2nd half at least was more man coverages. It did improve...

Can we get a whole game out of the D?

Offense would help if we played with a lead. Dirk seems lost after those scripted 15plays. We don’t start going off on offense until he lets Matt go uptempo.

I don’t have anything nice to say about this team whatsoever.

See....I knew it would be unpopular.

**** I'm good!

Feel sorry for you trying to look for something positive and get shot too bits.

Me I liked how Freeman was finally used correctly hit for big runs on the edge and abusing people off of short passes and getting in the end zone twice that’s a real positive.

Freeman did play better.  He had a good game.  He made a difference.

Quinn needs to go...as for the D there are soooo many overrated players. I do think Grady...Jones...Allen and Tak are good and we should rebuild around them. As for the rest....you are simply wasting your time. You just gave up 34 pts to a below avg offense. That's a good 10 pts more than they were averaging. 52 pts last week to Hou? Are you kidding me? What more do you people need to see? Whats it going to take?  Mr Brees hanging 50 on us later this season?

David Johnson is a WR a lot of the time, and he's a dominant talent. But that's not why I'm replying. I've watched Arizona play a lot over the past three years. Fitz may be old, but he's still a stud in the league.

Being here..I hear and see alot of cardinals stuff.

Murray looks legit.

We had him dead to rights a couple tines and he was unbelievable in his speed and quickness.

It was very impressive to see in person.

Fitz will always be a stud, but he is very slow at this stage of his career. He’ll be like the 30th best WR the Falcons face this year.
