We are losing with the basics

Recommended Posts

I know that all of us are critical of players and coaches. I'm strongly opposed to the schemes we run. Take a look at how things are being done in other places. Obviously, we tend to think Coordinators bring their own schemes in. That's basically not true. Sark for instance, was trying to imitate Shanahan's System. It was hard enough for Kyle to do it himself. If you look at a QB like Tua for Alabama. We all know that he has a strong arm, but that's not the source of most of his success. They attack zone coverages with him getting rid of the ball in probably less than 2 seconds. This is still the same Sark. Tua has been in this same scheme regardless of who his OC was.

This brings me to the point of us living by the deep ball, and dying by it. Plays are taking too long to develop, and it has nothing to do with Ryan's lack of mobility. Take what the defense gives you.

Why is mobility the sudden must have for qbs? mobility isn't always a good thing

Ryan doesnt have the strongest arm to begin with and he is pretty slow

And yet he is at the top of NFL in Rating of the passes thrown over 20+ yards. His rating is almost twice the league average. Shows accuracy trumps arm strength. If Arm strength was everything, Byron Leftwich wouldn't be throwing those passes into the stands, he would be tossing TD.

Will never forget the 3 field goals he threw in a row vs titans in 2007 preseason.
