We missed the Tomahawk Chop

The Fighting Irish comes from the Irish Brigade in the Civil War. If the tomahawk chop is "honoring their culture" then so is the Fighting Irish.

As I clearly stated earlier, I am Irish and have NO issue with using the nickname of the Fighting  Irish, even though sometimes it is used against us because the Irish are known to be combative. I even referenced the Kilkenny Cats.

My point was, the Irish are also know for our love of alcohol or just to be drunks. So being called the Fighting Irish is cool, being called the Drunken Irish of ND would be completely different.

The same argument applies here, we are celebrating the bravery of Native Americans calling our team the Braves, doing the chop, to chop down our opponents. It would be so different if we called ourselves the Redskinned Savages and waved faked scalps!

@jidady I know I have asked you this before and you didn't answer it the first time, so I am asking again. Where does this stop?

I did answer it. I said that we approach each situation as it plays out. We're 100% in the wrong here, so we fix this one. If there's another one where we're 100% wrong, we fix that one. We don't worry about ambiguous theoreticals in the face of legitimate critiques. Otherwise, we don't learn, and we don't improve as a people.

“Woke” but still asleep because the media tells them how to feel

Considering the word isn't even used in the proper context, it's not surprising that it makes no sense.

I mean if anyone can get so offended by the non- threating or non-violet actions of other people to the point that those people's actions are curtailed, freedom is doomed.

There are people who express themselves in a variety of ways that might seem offensive to others, but if it is not threating the safety of others, do we really want the PC going around telling what we can and can't do?

Just like what @tl;dr said , an individual said that something the fans of the team he lost the game to were doing something he was offended by. Funny that it wasn't an issue during the regular season! Funny it wasn't an issue seasons before! Nope, only when he lost!

If you can't see what his motivations are here I feel sorry for you. He played us and won.

I'm not saying the chop doesn't need to be looked into. I don't think I have the right answer and I certainly don't think it's my place to tell someone what they should be offended by.

I just think it's odd though how he didn't have an opinion on it until the Cards had lost a playoff game. Wasn't an issue in the first 4 games the teams played in STP this year...

collectivism at its finest. All based in lies about a lot of things. Liars. Haters. They want you dead. Truth. They do. Want you dead and your family. I’ll  be banned for speaking the truth. They

They want you dead. That’s the truth. Your voice? Dead. Your opinion? Dead. Your place in this world?bDead. You’re hated. To the core. You’re female? Believe in God? Love your husband? heterosexual?  Pretty children? Dead. White too? You’re opinion means nothing. You’re nothing because you are on the wrong side of the “righteous”  argument. You’re the enemy. Make no mistake, they want you dead. Now the Cherokee’s are the new “victims” in 2019. They want money. The Braves have sucked for years. What did you hear?Crickets. They’re victims? Cherokee Casino is literally a major advertisement for the Braves. None of us have NOTHING to do with history. Most of us grew up poor white trash. Some other group against vwhite people to make us feel guilty for being born?  My daughters?!  Lies. All lies. Liars. Frauds. Liars. I’ll probably get banned for telling the truth. These fools are literally in school asking my children to apologize for their skin. And guilt tripping them for being born. The truth. I get this brought to me on the regular.

@Black Francis Yes, I am a white, Catholic, female,  who loves her husband and has 2 awesome kids.

I don't shut down for everyone. I think I have proven myself here to not back down. Of course there are groups that will always try to silence you, I know it has happened to me.  The key is to NEVER let them.

I will always stand up for what I believe and I have taught my kids to do the same, even when it isn't the most popular belief.

I will always call out what I believe are injustices,  or in this case hypocrisies.
