Because the players and coaches want to be activists and sjw’s and politicians... unless it could cost them a dollar, then they’ll do anything to protect that dollar.

They don’t put themselves in the China residents position. This whole law in Hong Kong is illegal as ****

Why is the NBA backing China? The people are suffering and that’s the cause of their protests. But then again, this country is all but begging to become Socialist

It’s called greed, selfishness, willful ignorance, hypocrisy, dishonesty, deceit, and moral bankruptcy.

And, when these people who are consumed with excessive empathy and guilt, who are drowning in excessive emotions, and need an enemy to resent, blame, and hate so they can virtue signal, claim moral superiority, and alleviate their self-suffering... meets the reality of their livelihood and status being affected by the almighty dollar... the dollar and livelihood selfishly wins.

It’s why we have politicians and celebrities who want to ban guns, but they get to keep armed security.  Why they want open borders, but they get to live in gated/walled mansions.  Why they want high taxes, but mostly so they can buy votes with welfare and promises they rarely keep and so they can enrich themselves and their cronies.  Why they want to impeach someone for alleged corruption, while they make bank off corrupt deals they’ve perpetrated countless times.  Why they want to destroy someone else to cover up their wrongdoings so they can continue their corrupt and luxurious lifestyles.

They're just really awful people.

Thats what happens when you have an agenda and are more concerned about the bottom line. People in Hong Kong are dying, being beaten and jailed just for speaking up for their basic human rights. God forbid you show support for them. Call out a murderous dictator that jails people because of their religion. As soon as the Hong Kong support tweet went out China removed all NBA banners and ads. If I was commissioner I would have all my teams in country pack up and leave

I visited Hong Kong several times in ‘94 on deployment for the USN. It was a fascinating beautiful city. One of my favorite places. It was still under British Laws then. I don’t think I’d go back now. Darn shame.

The elite in this country rarely put themselves in the position of regular folks. They preach at us about what we should be doing and thinking, and then they do the exact opposite nearly all the time. Celebrities are the worst. Politicians a close second, and pro sports’ highest profile players are next in line.

Best to watch what happens between the lines and not focus on their moronic opinions on life.

I feel the same about Vienna, Austria. I absolutely loved that city, but it has been ruined the last decade from what they tell me now.

Beirut was a destination tourist city at one time. It’s crazy how politics and religion can ruin once vibrant cities.

Yep! Tehran was, too, until the revolution. It’s amazing to see those places in old photos from the 60s and 70s and how sophisticated the people seemed to be. Then, overnight they were thrown a thousand years into the past. It’s sad.

Yep. Theocratic government ruined these places and ruined lives. Completely changed the culture overnight.
