Whats some other serious names? I can't stomach another defensive coach

I've been looking at West Coast offense guys that have experience..  I wonder what you guys would think of Mariucci? He did alright with the niners but not so hot with a weak Detroit Roster.

Why does everyone want these old retired guys that haven't coached since George W was President? This is so silly. Dungy, Cowher, and now Mariucci? Jesus Christ!! Enough! The Falcons do not need a WCO guy to field a good offense. The Saints offense for example is nowhere near WCO and it's only been a nightmare to defend for the last nearly 15 years. The Patriots don't run a WCO and again, unstoppable for a number of years now. Matt Ryan would be unstoppable playing in either of those offenses.

Rather go with someone that is proven. I don’t see a young coach coming in here and fixing the discipline/attention issues.

Those guys are "proven" in an NFL that does not exist anymore. The NFL changed dramatically 5-8 years ago and none of those guys have proven anything in today's version of offensive overdrive NFL. HeIl, two of those guys struggled mightily fielding decent offenses in the old NFL and you expect them to come in and compete in today's NFL? HeIl, no dude.

Better coordinator than HC.

I wouldn't mind trying Cowher if he decided to return to coaching and if the Falcons were starting over. He's hard nose HC that could possibly bring that defensive Steelers culture to Atlanta.

But I would like a really good offensive mind. Like the Sean Payton(minus the Zoolander facial expressions) or Sean McVay type.

Him or Pete Carmichael. Those are the only two guys I want. If we can't get one of them might as well bring Dan Reeves back for all I care. It wouldn't matter.

BTW, what's your thoughts on Carmichael?

Thoughts? It'd never happen. Lol I highly doubt he'd even consider it. I don't know much about him outside of him as the OC in NO.

I'm skeptical of him because Andy Reid is a playcalling mastermind and he has the most loaded offense in the league. I don't know how well that transition would go.

Doug Pedersen and Matt Nagy seem just fine. Reid has arguably the best coaching tree in the NFL.
