FalconsIn2012
If I didn’t know better, I would think we lost intentionally. We averaged 7.5 yards per play to their 6.0. We had more passing yards, more rushing yards and were a staggering 8-10 on 3rd downs while the Colts were 5-8. All of this screams a W. Except it didn’t, and we didn’t. 16 Penalties for 130 yards is inexcusable. I would start benching players. How many holding penalties did our 40 million dollar OL get called for? How many 3rd down stops were nullified by stupid penalties on the defense? You can’t overcome a -100 differential in penalty yards in the NFL. There is too much parity. This is is on both the coaches and the players. 38 penalties in 3 weeks. We are lucky to be 1-2 with a chance at getting to .500 next week diehardfalconsfan, mqg96, slick0ne and 12 others

MilleniumFalcon
In the Vikings game, the Falcons had 350 yards of offense compared to Vikings 270. But the Falcons also had 3 turnovers and a blocked punt. You're not winning in the NFL playing like this... Disciplined football and the Falcons are 3-0 right now. Ergo Proxy
Also, you may as well focus on Matthews. Right side has been a revolving door with injuries. Kaleb has looked good but they did call him for the one false start. Not surprising for a rookie. Matthews has been as confusingly bad as Ryan. Otherwise, OL has been a surprise early on given the overturn and the injuries. Snafu
Funny thing is, the OL's Holding penalties really had minimal impact because we were converting anyway. Those automatic 1st downs hurt substantially more. Whatever though, they were gashing us anyway. We straight up couldnt stop them regardless. Offense came to life, and overcame its penalties. Whats the split on defensive and offensive penalties? Can’t forget the STs penalties, too. GATXBOI
Exactly disciplined football... Something we seem to ventured away from since the playoff game vs the Rams 2017. The last have I actually can recall a complete game from Atlanta. We need a tough nose coach not a pat on the back coach. Falcons_Frenzy
The entire team is playing bad. Even the players we've come accustomed to doing well have struggled. I don't know what this team did in the offseason and through the first 3 weeks of the season for preparation. Whatever it is, it's not working. The biggest was Kazee's holding on 3rd & 10 and they had an incompletion to make it 4th & 10. At that point, Falcons had 2 straight TD drives and would get the ball back down 20-17 but instead they score a TD after that and it's 27-17. falcons007, Bigbenright and DogIsYourName
Jesus
Some of these guys are thinking too much out there. The way the offense looked in the second half was incredible. They marched down the field and scored despite a million penalties along the way. The team does have a target on them for sure. They need to play a flawless game penalty-wise, which is impossible in the NFL, in order for the league to take it easy. That said our defensive players are doing a lot of cheap shots. The Falcons look dirty. That said, one play stood out to me. The one where Clayborn almost had a sack but the tackle was holding the inside of his shoulder pad from behind. Very blatant, very much not called. Meanwhile every Falcon hold is called. Diesel_Bird
Meanwhile, the saints win with their backup in a hostile road environment against an actual talented team. Good news is, there’s still time to figure it out, I just don’t see us taking the opportunity of it. Probably finish 5-11, maybe.

The D should have taken control over the game after almost 10 min drive by falcons with score 17-20. Even if the falcons scored on the interception play, Colts could have easily score on last drive. Yeah 89 yards and the biggest drive was right after falcons took 10 mins on drive to make it 17-20. D should have taken over it. Even assuming the falcons score on the INT red zone drive, Colts could have score on last drive. If it was BB and sena payton, they would have score in the end and made it 34-24 game.
