Right. The Falcons have figured out the system on this one. We had Morten Andersen from 1995-2000 when he was 35-40. Then, we brought him back in 2006 and 2007 when he was 46/47.

Then, we swapped to Elam, who was 38 and 39 at the time. Since 2009, we've had Matt, who started with us when he was 34 and will be 44 this year.

Old, proven kickers are much more reliable. It's that simple.

Exactly.

Wasn't Hyde gonna get cut anyhow? Texans GM is getting fleeced today. They apparently want a WR badly as well. We should see if they'll give us anything for Justin Hardy.

Carlos Hyde rushed eight times for 29 yards in the Chiefs' preseason finale.

The fact that Hyde was on the field at all indicates that he's a prime candidate to be among the Chiefs' final roster cuts. Damien Williams is locked in as the starter, while both sixth-round pick Darwin Thompson and incumbent backup Darrel Williams have passed Hyde on the depth chart. Hyde's next suitor will be his fifth team in the past two seasons.

Two minutes till 4 p.m. and beat writers with zero clue on ATL's cuts. It's their job to get scoops.

I suspect he'll be like Prater. He'll go somewhere else and be good once he gets over the yips. The talent is there, and he was really good for us when Matt was out last year. In games that matter, he's 21 out of 26 with several 50+ yarders.

I don’t think we have seen last of Taveechio as a falcon. He may be back, weird things have happened. If he can be consistent.

Exactly what I keep telling people.

And before Morten Andersen we had Norm Johnson for his age 31-34 seasons and he was really good. He was an 86.6% kicker in a Falcons uniform. But yeah, I've said several times, kickers always have their best seasons after age 30.

Maybe Dimitroff fell off his bike on the way to the office this morning and had to go back home to reapply his hair gel, a 4 hour process on good days

Better than the 55% this preseason, but still only ~80%

He's 80% of his career. Guess what Bryant was before he signed with the Falcons in 2009? 80%. 80% is actually considered good.
