Dansby has looked good in his first game back. 3/4 with a walk

Hitting-wise, yes. Doesn't look all that great on the bases. Very tentative. He was DHing tonight, but he's scheduled to play short tomorrow. I should be there.

How about the Braves bullpen? Look at what they've done in the last 5 games.

  • Saturday - 4 1/3 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 HR, 1 BB, 6 SO
  • Sunday - 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 0 BB, 2 SO
  • Tuesday - 3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 0 BB, 6 SO
  • Wednesday - 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 1 BB, 1 SO
  • Thursday - 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 0 BB, 4 SO

Totals - 15 1/3 IP, 8 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 HR, 2 BB, 19 SO, 0.59 ERA

Good to know. Wasn't really thinking about him on the bases. Hopefully he looks good tomorrow night out at short. Fortunately I think we have the ability to give him a bit of time to get back in the groove due to our schedule/Hech's recent success.

I see on the Rome Braves Twitter account that Swanson isn't listed on Sunday on their pinned tweet. Any insight on that? Or just as simple as, he's not playing lol

Favorite part of it all might be the 2 walks... Say what you want about the new guys, but they aren't coming here and just walking everyone. That was by far the most annoying part of the bullpen's earlier struggles. Games like the Marlins implosion one were much easier to stomach than ones where the pen gives up 5/6 BB's over 3 innings and blow it

This season's team is so weird. When we pull Soroka before the 7th, the bullpen blows the lead. When we leave him in, he blows the lead. No matter how it goes wrong, we still win.

Dansby said he felt good. He mentioned it's getting better everyday and hes happy to be back on the field. He was the DH last night but tonight he'll play SS for at least half of the game. Tonight is the true test.

No one should mitigate the point you are making here. Some people or teams just win. Its hard to create and hard tl put your finger on the exact reason at times. But it is a huge deal.

Nats have won 8 of 10 and have gained 0 games. Braves have neutralized every win they've earned. Off day officially dropped the Phillies to a solo place in 4th again. How about the NL East may get 3 playoff teams and Philly might not be one.

All this and we may get help from Riley, Swanson, Markakis, Ender, even O'Day(?).
