After this series it's off to New York, Denver and Toronto. The Rockies game is a 1 game trip that's a makeup for an early season rainout. After that game in Denver it's all AL for Atlanta. Braves will have 7 straight games against AL teams. Jays in Toronto and Atlanta with the White Sox in for 3 between them.

Man, talk about some jet lag there. Is the starter for the Rockies game going to be from our regular rotation schedule or maybe they could start someone like Newcomb?

Probably normal. Newk cant really go more than 2 or 3 innings now. His arm isn't stretched out anymore. Hasnt been a SP since April. Might be a situation where the starter for that game goes to Denever a day or two early so they're acclimated and rested.

Rockies claimed Wes Parsons. Parsons was DFA'd a for Hechavarria

Great pick-up for them. Parsons does a good job keeping the ball on the ground.

Braves claimed Billy Hamilton off waivers.

Bryse Wilson sent to AAA, Webb called up and placed on the 60 day IL. This clears a roster spot for Hamilton on the 40 and 25 man roster.

Definitely expected this move after Ender got hurt. BTW, someone back early in the season suggested that the Braves trade Ender to the Royals for Hamilton.

That Nats bullpen though...

Pirates already benched their best bats. They waved the white flag.

The Nats aren't going away any time soon. Fortunately they still have some tough games left in there:

3 @ Chicago
3 @ Minnesota
3 @ St. Louis
3 vs. Cleveland

They've also still got plenty of games left vs the Braves, Phillies, and Mets too.

We just need to keep winning

Ken Rosenthal said Hamilton will not get ABs. Hes here to play defense and run the bases.

But will get AB's when he goes in late and the bullpen does what they do...lol

Agreed.   We need to take care of business and sweep the Nats.   Can't let up.

Don't know about this Hamilton player but couldn't they bring up a top prospect?
