Ty starting the season at RT, which is highly likely at this point, is big concern.  Pass protection is just dreadful and Ryan is going to take some hits early on. Need the Heartbreak Kid to get well soon. Very soon. Then HOPE we see good things from him.

The reason that Ty looked good last year replacing Schreader, is because they had game plans in place to help cover up his weaknesses.  There weren't any game plans for Thursday's game. There will be when the season starts.

I hear you man but the dude needing help (continually) is a concern in itself. He can’t handle any speed rushers 1 on 1

No, it's not ideal, but that's the difference between preseason and regular season- in preseason, you just let it happen, in the regular season, you counter it.

Love to see Gono come out the next two games and do well, to have another option for RT.  Or McGary heal up quick.  We'll see.

Yup that’s all we can hope for right about now (the counter).

Agreed about Gono. Wasn’t as impressive this last game as opposed to the first 2, but would obviously be fantastic if he shows out against Washington

Chris Chester was much less of a concern back then than Ty is today.  In fact many were concerned when Chester wasn’t resigned / retired. Safe to say that the majority wouldn’t feel the same for Sambrillo

True, but Chester was that OL’s weakest link. And he was a journeyman OG at like 32 years old.

Danielle Hunter is about to ******* tear his *** apart Week 1.

We had to do the same thing in ‘16 with Chris Chester.

Mack was likely at his peak and Schraeder was still playing like a top RT at that point. We also had Toilolo to block and Dimarco for run plays. Now Mack has regressed some and we have a rookie RG. Neither Toilolo or Dimarco are on the roster now. Chester was in a much better situation.

Mack hasn’t regressed that much bro.

And we have some excellent blocking TE’s on this roster too.

In due time, starting RG Lindstrom should be better than Chester/Levitre/Schraeder ever were.

To be clear, the sooner we can get Kaleb at RT the better. But there's Things we can do in the meantime to help Ty (and rookie Kaleb) out. It’s a big reason we hired Koetter/Mularkey et al.

Well, yeah, if they leave him out on an island against Hunter, Ty will get destroyed. And they won't

There's a reason Stocker and Paulsen are on the team.

Game planning makes a world of difference, it's why Ty didn't appear to be a problem last year.

Encouraging news on the injury front.

Hope Etling plays this Thursday.

Oh, no kidding, do not want to ever see Simms take a another snap as a falcon. Got two more preseason games this year where he will, then, hopefully, he just fades away. Love to see an intense fight between Etling and Benkert for the back up job next year.

You know he has tons of motivation because after last week RT is obviously his for the taking.

yeah you don't go into a preseason game expecting the DC to blitz every freaking down. Of course some forethought of who that DC is should have been taken into consideration

Simms couldn't even cause intentional grounding without throwing the ball to the opposition.

He literally can't throw the ball to the dirt
