There's going to be so much crow eaten about Vic Beasley this year

Don’t really get your point. My reply was based off of the post no matter when it was made. I also know he doesn’t have 10 sacks but again I was replying to the post that was posted.

The point is this thread was started months ago. Your comment was about the entire seasons work. You made it appear that you didn’t know the thread was old. I thought I was helping.

Mainly, I was just amused that this old thread seems to hang around, and will be here after the guy is a  FA and gone from the team.  But hey, here goes...

Full disclosure, I'm a BPA guy, and I never wanted him in the first place with Todd Gurley, clearly the BPA, there for the taking. Beasley was a mid round talent at best. Having said that, I'd never have brought him back at his price tag this year.

If he had a good year, we couldn't afford him in 2020, and if he stunk, it was a waste of money. Either way, that money would've been better spent signing a guy like Suh to a 2 year deal, who actually could've reshaped our DL (something I hope gets rectified this offseason since he's a FA).

As for his five years here, he's been about average as a pass rusher, I'd generously say. The typical guys usually get inflated stats  (2016) by getting a bunch in one or two games (Denver, Rams accounted for 6.5). In reality he was and is about an 8-9 sack guy. There aren't many guys who make a huge impact every game and they aren't just pass rushers.

The problem he has is an inability to affect the run game because he gets swallowed up much of the time, even inexplicably by pedestrian tackles. He's a specialist, which will get him a ten year career and a nice nest egg with some decent stats, but he's just a guy, and guys can be replaced.

Gurley fell to Earth in the worst way.

Gurley had injuries. Those can’t be transposed when one takes him entirely from one football universe to another. It’s like saying Neal would’ve had the same leg issues had he been drafted by Dallas.

Lol you good man. When I made the post I was taking the entire season into consideration. I’m not a big fan of Vic.
