Duvall likely joining the Braves tomorrow.

Makes more sense then trading for another outfielder

[680 The Fan] Markakis: "these guys are going to be fine. I'll still be here, just be watching from a different angle. These guys have overcome a lot of things. Injuries are part of the game, that's the chance you take very time you step in between those white lines" #Braves

The question is how good will he be. Hopefully hes put last year behind him. Hes in a funk at AAA right now. Theres no doubting he has that huge power potential

It sounds like Markakis might be out for the season.

Yeah that quote sucks for him and honestly might end his career if it's serious.

Feel sad for the guy but he's a great person and teammate so he'll still be there for the team any way he can.

With this clubhouse, I’d take a real long look at Puig. He’d have something to prove in a playoff series against LA.

Puig and Iglesias.

Hopefully Dansby isn't out for too long. We have avoided the injury bug for a while it seems, but with Swarzak, Fried, Webb, Markakis, and likely Dansby hitting the DL this month at some point, it's caught up with us. Not counting guys like Folty, Gausman, and Ender that have gone on the "IL" as well.

Maybe Markakis can be back sooner than we think, but if not, we need another outfielder as well. Maybe Duvall can be that guy, but I don't really trust that.

We have enough depth to make up for this, but we don't need too many more people to get hurt.

I would be fine with this for sure. Maybe the Reds will take Duvall back hahaha

If Markakis is out for the season it likely means his Braves career is over as well. We'll have to see what the evaluation says later. If it is the end of his career we have to acknowledge what a solid Braves career it was. He was out there everyday, never played in fewer than 156 games. Won a gold glove, steady defense if not flashy. His batting line as a Brave is .284/.359/.404 in 3,161 ABs. That's a very solid line.

Look up the term "under appreciated" and his face should be there. What he turned down to come back, what he has done in that clubhouse, what he does day in and day out for this ball club, is what most would want from every player on the team.

I sincerely hope he's not done, but if he is, THANK YOU NICK!

Nick to 10 day IL with fractured wrist.

Dansby to 10 day IL with a foot injury.

Fried reinstated.

Duvall called up.

DOB said expect Duvall to play everyday through July. Braves need to evaluate if he can handle the load or they need to find a trade partner.

The fascinating part of the Markakis situation is that we signed him only to learn that he'd just had neck surgery. Somehow, this is the first time that he's been on the DL for us. Given his health at the start of the contract, that's genuinely stunning. Neck surgery is one of the most dangerous kinds.

5-2 Dodgers heading into the 7th. A win tonight and we could be 6.5 games up again.

Sounds like Markakis would be able to participate in the playoffs if the Braves make it. Of course the drama would be a whole different story. Markakis would have very limited time to get his timing back down and everything. Plus we hope Duvall is playing at an acceptable level. Would be an interesting debate on who to have on the roster.
