When the Atlanta Falcons square off against the Washington Redskins in an NFL preseason game on Aug. 22 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, D'Eric Sadler will serve as the Falcons' honorary captain.

D'Eric isn't an Atlanta player or a member of the Falcons' staff; he's a 10-year-old amputee.

On Tuesday, he visited the Falcons at their training-camp practice, where Pro Bowl wide receiver Julio Jones invited D’Eric to serve as the team’s honorary captain for the preseason game.

“I’m your favorite fan,” D’Eric told Jones as he talked with former Alabama standouts Jones and Calvin Ridley, who’s also a wide receiver for the Falcons.

D'Eric also talked with Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan and coach Dan Quinn.
