Report: Owners have proposed 18 games, with a 16-game limit for each player

It might work it might not. I honestly feel something along these lines would make things interesting. The NFL season is too short. Diluting your product is not always a bad thing.

Expand rosters and increase cap if you’re going to go 18 games. Make it worthwhile for the players

Yeah, that doesn't make any sense. You're going into the final couple weeks of the season and a huge wave of key players for teams fighting for a playoff spot won't be able to play. Awful idea for a league where every game is vital.

Yeah if they could work it in a way where it'd slightly benefit the players more as compared to now I think it could work.

It doesn't say what 2 games each player sits. You could sit them against weaker opponents or teams that you don't have a shot to beat anyway. It would make it more interesting from a coaches decision perspective. It would also allow players to get live fire experience.

I don't like the idea, but it would be interesting to see how they would handle your starters having to sit 2 games.

It also doesn't say they all have to sit the same 2 games. So maybe Julio has a toe nagging him, give him a week to recoup, or Matt takes a shot and is bruised up give him that week. You don't have to play a whole team of backups in the same game.

*Quinn benches Ryan, Julio, Jake, Grady, and Deion Jones...*

The dumbest idea yet. Literally makes no sense. It's essentially what the preseason already is.

Doesn't say you gotta bench all of them

Weird.  So we'd have to bench Matt Ryan for 2 games?  How would coaches decide when to bench their best players?

Yeah I hate that idea. If you were going to make them play 18 games, then you should be able to put your best players forward for 18 games. What if those two games we lose keep us out of the playoffs?

No, but benching Matt Ryan and Julio Jones would revert this offense to borderline pre-season status versus a team that didn't bench anybody that week.

Who says we'd bench them at the same time?
