Good . He has 2 more years left on his current deal . Play it out & retire . :tiphat:

Oh my...

Part of me agrees about making him play out another year on the contract, though

Julio is saying exactly the right thing.

But, of course, if there is no deal even a week into training camp, he _should_ hold out. (I hope that doesn't happen of course).

He shouldn't risk an injury at our own camp keeping him from getting paid.

He does have a full 2 years on his contract.  Make no mistake, we are doing him a favor by extending so early

Julio has never made a scene and YOU know it.  If ANYTHING, he SHOULD make a scene before he ends up like Earl Thomas. Sports is BUSINESS...

So he should flip off Management and FO ??

Yeah. Most players are doing their own thing in the offseason. Once camp starts, they are in flowery branch every day walking past TD office lol. It’ll get done. My guess is first week of camp

Well u hope so

True....but there isn’t a selfish bone in Julio’s body.  And he isn’t an attention ho.

It was odd to see his contract demand last year.  But it doesn’t change what I think of him as a person.  That said, I have no issue with a fan being annoyed with the whole situation

Freeman didn’t have a thing at the SB. Stop following up with this guy. There was nothing “true” about that. His agent was asked a question and it went from there. Free was with his team preparing for the game.

Just like when Freeman had a contract hissy during our SB bye week the agent represents the player. They are one in the same. You cant play good cop bad cop. If the agent is causing an issue and the player keeps the agent you still blame the player.

Lies!!

It’s just his opinion.  Happens to be wrong in this case.

I don’t particularly care, but I understand fans having a legit gripe for Julio demanding a new contract last year with three years left on his old deal  That’s a bit much.  Once all the front loaded money was gone, his agent cried wolf.

He’s always wrong

A player with 2 years left on their current contract should not be holding out

If it's not another contract dispute it's a "foot" issue. JJ has a habit of making a scene in the off season and no one ever calls him out on it.

I'd like for him to go 2 off seasons content with whatever contract he signed, healthy and present at all team activities.

Not to much to ask for a guy that wants to ALWAYS be the highest paid WR in the NFL.

The best want to be paid accordingly. In every profession, that rings true.

I personally think it was to soon for Julio but it is what it is in todays NFL

They ought to make all contracts 2 years max, fully guaranteed.  Also exclude QB’s or your teams preferred top contract from counting against the CAP

I'm confused what the hold up is

Why sign him until day 1 of TC?  Honestly, you never know what can happen.  Seems cold hearted but it’s a business

If it doesn’t get done this year, be on the lookout next year. Next year is the year they can move him and free up a ton of money. Not saying that’s gonna happen but anything is possible in today’s league.

Don't get me wrong, I love Julio's play. I appreciate the way he handles himself both on and off the field. My one and only team Jersey is a red Julio Jersey. But, in my line of work, if I sign a contract and receive a bonus for doing so, I pay back the bonus for leaving early or violating the contract. And, bear in mind that these are not rubber stamped contracts, they are individually based and agreed upon by the individual. Cant help that other guys came along and signed better contracts. You are still obligated to yours and anything worked out other than that is through the generosity of your employer.

Then he should just work off of one year franchise tag every year if he wants to keep getting paid at the top after signing a multi year contract.

Yep, why even bother with multi year contracts if he is going to start grumbling about it with 2 + years left?

Does your employer also have the right to just rip up the contract at any point and not honor the whole thing on THEIR end?

Matt Ryan should’ve done the same thing then. Also they should have a cap on how much a player at a position can make then. I’m in a contract based business and if I have a great year guess what? My rates are going up. All these republicans keep talking about a “socialist” society but it’s a supreme “capitalist” society. It’s ALL about the buck. And it’s not like Julio hasn’t outplayed his contract. If it weren’t for the Deion Sanders and the eric Dickerson’s etc...Many of these positions wouldn’t even be making money outside of qb. Also if you wanna blame somebody blame the league for implementing free agency. That’s when those money issues started. Eric Dickerson had to retire to get paid. Nobody in a talent based business like the nfl is gonna be to tops at his position and just remain at the pay he first reviewed. Also about your job I can guarantee if your services are in demand companies will pay whatever for them. Also Julio hasn’t violated or left the contract early. The same contract is being RE negotiated. They’re not tearing up a contract and writing another one. You could have your contract Re negotiated. I bet if you weren’t living up to the contract you’d be re negotiated or terminated. But also if you did an outstanding job and they were more than pleased with your services they’d be willing to re negotiate to keep someone else from getting you.

Or maybe he could just play like doo doo so they could cut him.
