NashvilleFalcon01 792
Everyone already knew, but just to make it official: https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/30657231/georgia-bulldogs-qb-jt-daniels-says-staying-school Georgia quarterback JT Daniels, who shined late in the season for the Bulldogs, will return this coming fall, he announced Tuesday. "Found my new home, now we got unfinished business, Go Dawgs 2021," Daniels wrote on Twitter. ADVERTISEMENT A transfer from USC, Daniels spent most of the season recovering from a knee injury but made his Georgia debut Nov. 21 against Mississippi State, passing for 401 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his attempts. Daniels started Georgia's final four games, passing for 1,231 yards and 10 touchdowns with two interceptions. EDITOR'S PICKS Georgia center Hill, DE Herring enter NFL draft LB Ojulari joins Georgia group entering draft What's next for college football's top non-title game teams? He overcame two turnovers to rally No. 9 Georgia to a 24-21 win over No. 8 Cincinnati on Friday in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, passing for 392 yards and completing 68.4% of his attempts. Before Daniels took the field, Georgia's pass offense had struggled, averaging 209.3 yards per game with nine touchdowns and nine interceptions. Daniels rated as ESPN's No. 3 pocket passer and No. 68 overall player in the 2018 recruiting class. He started as a true freshman at USC in 2018, passing for 2,672 yards with 14 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Daniels tore the ACL and meniscus in his right knee during USC's season-opening win against Fresno State in 2019. Kedon Slovis emerged as USC's starter, and Daniels transferred to Georgia in May. He was medically cleared to play at Georgia in late September but didn't see the field until much later. Georgia defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt, who started all 11 games this past season, also announced that he would return on Tuesday, taking advantage of the NCAA's extra year of eligibility because of the coronavirus pandemic. A 6-foot-3, 315-pound senior, Wyatt had 25 tackles, two tackles for loss and 13 quarterback pressures this past season. I thought it was the right decision, but I wasn’t convinced that he would stay until he said so.

There has been smoke there for a long time and Miami is working his family members to get him tocome home. Still not decided from what is being said, so there is still a chance he returns. He was part of the group that had to be talked off a ledge by Jonas Jennings in a big meeting during the middle of the season. But there are numerous factors: Covid has changed the college experience from one of fun to one of isolation, which is harder to do when you are also away from home. Miami is making a concerted effort to try and reach out to a bunch of players that left the Miami area in the last few cycles, and it's having an effect. SoFL has mentioned there is also some friction between him and the coaching staff: nothing bad on either side, just a case of sometimes a player and a staff just don't mesh well, and this may be one of those times. There has also been some question about his work ethic and conditioning level. Hopefully he stays because he will be heavily counted on if he does. He would most likely be one of the starting CBs, or at the least the starting Star. With the amount of people planning on returning to try and make a championship push for next season, hopefully he sees that and wants to be a part of it.
