tl;dr
Would LOVE a sweep to put us up 8.5 on them, but would take 2/3 for 6.5 falconsd56, Drew4719 and sdogg

Unknøwn
Phillies will go Nola, Pivetta and Eflin. They flipped Nola and Pivetta then skipped Velasquez.

This seems to be a Hail Mary to me. They are going to try whatever they can to salvage this series. If we take 2 of 3 or more, then, I believe they are going to begin to slide. They are teetering on the edge, and I would love to push them off. ATL Fan in the DMV and Drew4719

LouDog
If we can pull off a sweep with them switching up their rotation to try to beat us, it will be **** hard for them to come back from. Looks like Washington will most likely be our real competition for the division in the 2nd half. falconsd56, Drew4719 and ATL Fan in the DMV

Walks have been an issue at times for him.

Falconsfan567
Just now, LouDog said: Yep and he needs to use his fastball a little more, early in the count. When Max Fried is good its because he's throwing his curveball for strikes and forcing hitters to attempt to hit it (which they can't when it's breaking like it should) or take it for a strike. When he isn't able to throw his curveball for strikes hitters lay off it and then he is forced to throw them a fastball and they jump on it. Doesn't matter that he throws 96. Bobby Cox used to say if hitters see enough fastballs they could time a jet. Fried also has appeared to lose the feel for his change up. Early in the season he had all 3 pitches working. Now he only has the fastball and he's getting hit. LouDog and Drew4719
Malachore
Most of his curveballs have been up recently and when they are up they get treated like a knuckleball.
VoiceofReason95
For the record: https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?piece of poop=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2019&month=6&season1=2019&ind=0&team=16&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0 If you believe peripherals, Fried had bad luck in June, and you're in a tough spot because you only had 2 starting pitchers that should've gotten good results. I think there's something to this though. Fried throws heat (and it's surprisingly fairly easy heat, he doesn't seem to be overexerting himself), but his fastball doesn't have good movement, it's not a good pitch without good placement, and he seems to be a bit inconsistent at tunneling. You could actually argue that he probably should be a guy that McCullers', and throws his fastball less. That's not happening in the Braves organization, so he should revisit a 2-seamer. Falconsfan567
Have you guys ever sent in fan mail to a professional athlete or broadcaster? My mom paints rocks and she made a St. Louis Blues 2019 Stanley Cup rock and we want to mail it to Chip Caray. How would I address that? Ive never mailed anything to a player but when i lived in Destin i managed a business that was a bowling alley/night club/ and sports bar under the same roof. Kevin Greene and his family came in to bowl. I let them bowl for free because having famous people there helped business. He thanked me by mailing an autographed football to my work a couple weeks later. Pretty cool move by him.
