therawest
My only question about DeAndre Hunter is his upside. But his floor is still better than just about any other player in this draft. Great complementary piece.

g-dawg
DeAndre Hunter will be a good player - probably not an all-star but maybe can get there some years. Is 8, 17, 35 and an expiring contract too much? YES You gotta remember though - this is a 4-5yr rebuild and we are just starting year 3. Hawks will have oodles of cap room in 2020 or 2021 to put finishing touches and top FAs by then. tonatl07, Marco102, FalconsIn2012 and 1 other

FWIW, during PTI, Jay Bilas said he's clearly one of the best four players in this draft (or words to that effect).

I think he's the right pick at four, unless Zion, Ja or Barrett drops to it. That probably aint gonna happen. I know the TATH Culver Nation is disappointed but if it's Hunter I think they'll warm up to him. jidady
I feel pretty confident we're going to trade down from #10 now as a way of recouping assets. Unless we're that in love with Cam Reddish.

Even now, I'm looking at the board to figure out a miracle scenario where Culver could fall to 10.

Spts1
I would have preferred Culver but Travis is shoring up that defense now instead of waiting on free agency. Hunter will be their Draymond Green. They still have the 10th pick also. Good move by their general manager... Marco102, FalconsIn2012 and VTCrunkler

Plus up to two first round picks (CLE pick Top 10 protected). We should pick up two nice pieces tonight. Looking like Hunter and Hayes. I'd be good with that. We need defense more than anything and both of them can move that meter. Take them and sign a veteran back up point and we will be a much better team this year. Should end our two year playoff hiatus and start a long playoff run. VTCrunkler and mqg96

I'm looking at Montrez Harrell from the Clippers and VanFleet from Toronto as the finishing touches in 2020 in this rebuild. A the Hawks could look like this in 2020 ( obviously don't know who they will target in next years draft).. They could also target Derozan and shore up shooting guard. pg Young, VanFleet sg Huerter sf Hunter, Bembry pf Collins, Spellman c Harrell Edited June 20, 2019 by slickgadawg
