Pete Prisco's top 100 players

Oh I'm not saying he's trash. He's a dawg. But 3rd overall in the league? Best QB? Naw. His talent is unbelievable, but if that was the case, throw Matt Stafford over Matt Ryan. Product on the field needs to weigh more and the media makes more excuses for Rodgers than is necessary. He's underperformed for years now and Matt has plain outperformed him for years, yet it's name recognition and what Rodgers "could do" but hasn't. Rodgers has only had one season over 100 passer rating in the last four, yet that's ignored. He's capable of doing what he did in 2011, because he's done it, but we're closing in on half a decade of where he hasn't been close to that player.

I think you also have to take in account that Rodgers doesn’t have a Julio jones, a Calvin Ridley, or even a Mo Sanu. Neither does Stafford since megatron retired. That helps the media’s take when you do what Rodgers does without the same caliber weapons Matt has. And that’s where, IMO, it comes from.

We’ve never seen Matt without a dawg. Neither Peyton Manning. Rodgers lost his dawgs not long after his SB so over the last 4 makes sense like you said. I think they’re giving too much credit to Rodgers talent because he doesn’t have scary weapons anymore and they’re taking away credit from Matt because he has 3 scary weapons at all times. Sanu is the best #2 in the nfl IMO. At least top 2 behind maybe only minny. And nobody has a better #3 than Ridley. Put those 3 wr’s in GB with Rodgers. He’d be the greatest qb to ever play the game in the media’s eyes. Lol.

It’s rodgers ability that keeps him up there. Like Shannon sharpe said he’s probably the best thrower of the football we’ve ever seen. Then add his ability to see things the way he does. Then his ability to extend plays. Same with stafford. Give him Julio, sanu, and Ridley. Matt has been blessed like Peyton Manning with a front office that gets him the best toys. Matt has 2 first round wr’s on the same offense in Julio and Ridley. Had it before with Roddy and Julio. Peyton has Harrison and Wayne. Then add in they still want to see Matt make THE throw that wins the big game. And I mean a TD. Not a throw that got us in scoring range. Big Ben has his signature big game TD pass. Rodgers, Manning, Brees, Brady, Montana. I think they’re still waiting on that from Matt. When we absolutely have to have it in a close big time game he makes THE throw that will go down in history for a TB.

If Rodgers was a jag they’d have a SB probably 2 years straight with the defense they have. All they were missing was a DECENT qb. Trent Dillfer would’ve been enough for them to win.

Didn't that defense blow a pretty decent lead that Bortles built for them?

In what game? The jags only scored 6 points in the second half. The pats scored 14 points in the 4th qtr. it was 17-10 jags heading into the 4th. That’s not a big lead for the jags. And I don’t think Rodgers would be held to only 6 second half points. Heck we only scored 7 points in the second half. We were up 28-3 tho. 17-10 is nothing. That’s only a one score lead.

You clearly know nothing about the Titans or Jags.

I know enough about them to know that they hardly ever get mentioned by anyone in the media - the guys responsible for all the player overrating. They are solid teams right now, but hardly media darlings.

So, we should just assume Davante Adams (111 receptions in 2018) and Jimmy Graham (55 receptions in 2018) are just products of Rodgers greatness?

Others in the past have also included Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb who I would certainly rate equivalent to a Sanu or rookie Ridley.

Pete Prisco sounds like a guy who would go town to town with a wagon selling "Vitality Tonic".

Or a guy who would Crisco cooking grease.

Get your Crisco from Prisco!!!

Dude please. Adams ain’t on the same planet as Julio. Graham is a TE. He’s NEVER gonna take the top off the defense like a wr. I could’ve added hooper into the equation but I didn’t. If you think Adams and are equal don’t ever reply to me again. Lol. I don’t even know who his #2 and #3 wr is. All I know is Adams and his TE. And graham hasn’t been anything like he was in NO. Like i said he hasn’t had top qr’s since about 4 years as @vel said. Nelson hasn’t been the same since he got hurt and he’s NEVER been a Julio type talent. Also y’all acting like most of those big plays didn’t come from Rodgers extending plays. Randall Cobb hasn’t been the same since he got hurt a few seasons ago. When has ANYBODY ever put a GB wr core as a top 3 unit? Not since Favre and the early stages of Rodgers. Jordy Nelson???! Lol. What has he done since he’s been away from GB? And let’s not act like he was taking the top off the defense like Julio. He was never doubled, tripled or bracketed like Julio. Even HE benefited from Rodgers getting outside the pocket and buying more time to get open. Meanwhile Matt’s wr’s usually get open without Matt having to buy extra time every play.

Exactly. Would Julio disappear if he left Atl? H3ll no. He’d make some qb a pro bowler or d@mn near.

I can’t take anything away from Rodgers. He IS that good. The media does overrate him and I believe he and Matt are neck and neck so long story short he is slightly overrated and Matt is severely underrated.

I think matt’s Been the better QB over the past 3 years though. He’s had Better weapons for sure, but he’s also evolved into being an elite QB. Rodgers has had injury issues during that time  but that’s part of the equation too when deciding who is better.

Right now today, give me Matt.

I said Matt has been better of late. I still think that’s partly a byproduct of his weapons but so is every QB that is pretty good.  Not his fault his front office gives him great toys lol. That’s what they’re supposed to do. I’m taking Matt all day everyday but Aaron is a bad mf. One think I give him is Julio would have more td’s Because he’d hit him in stride more. His arm talent is better than Matt’s and every other qb except maybe pat mahommes now. That’s not a knock on Matt. It’s just the truth. No different than saying Coleman is faster than free. Not a knock on free. It’s just the truth. Free is the better back like Matt is the better qb.

It's group think/herd mentality. Nobody wants to be the guy who sticks out by ranking Rodgers low. They all only remember his 2011 season. They over value his "low INTs" even though it's mostly because he bails on plays and throws the ball away over anything. That's all. Saying Rodgers hasn't been better than Ryan gets all kinds of reactions, even though stats consistently say it's true.

Been preaching this for 3 yearss now. Dude is soooo overrated. Hes a top 5 QB that the media treats like a demi-god greek hero. Ryan and to a lesser exten Rivers are ignored by media so they can toungue bathe Rogers and Brady's nutz.

Yep. Durability is the most underrated attribute of any player. Thats one of the reaeons I liked Chester so much.
