FalconsIn2012
People didn’t like the question so I’ll simplify: Young to Pelicans for #1 pick

DonDaLuvMaker
Trae, his personality and style of play is perfect for the city of Atlanta. He got us all excited for next season. This is the most excitement we've had in years for a Hawks player. FalconsIn2012

But in both cases I think I would pick Zion. On second thought though, I would entertain making a similar deal with the Mavs for Doncic, but the extra pick would have to be an unrestricted pick. Perhaps it reads a tad ambiguous. I was just curious about Trae vs Zion in this years draft
GEORGIAfan
Initially, I was going to pick Zion as the no brainer choice. Zion is a better prospect than Trae, but you said current Trae. Which means I am getting ROY Trae as the floor. 24/9 Trae on day 1. And he still has plenty of room to grow. Maybe I have some volt green glasses on, but I have to go with Trae. WOR
Eh this isn't really a far question lol. I mean, it is, and I get your point. But at the same time you're asking if an unknown is better than a known. There's a lot of built in bias there. ATL Fan in the DMV

red2play
No because while Zion looks good in college, he won't dominate in the NBA. He has to lose weight and get a true 3 pointer. I love his defense though.

Then the OP read would you pick Trae or Zion? The first speaks to what I think GMs and scouts believe and would choose and the second is a question of my personal belief and choice. As for the updated question, absolutely not. Zion is still somewhat of an unknown, although he has skills and a physique that should translate immediately. However, I know that Trae can and has competed at a high level in the NBA. I wouldn't trade him away. I'd take my chances with a Culver or Hunter to round out a solid young core of players. It's like some people are just throwing shade at him because he's so popular, and some people just like dogging on the best. Have you watched him play? The dude runs the floor, jumps, handles, and moves like he's a 170 lb 6' point guard. But he does all that at 285 lbs at 6'7. He doesn't need to lose any weight. He is going to be a post-up/boxing out machine and there's not a thing anyone's going to be able to do about it. Nobody is pushing him out of their zone, and he can jump higher than anyone else in the paint, and move WAY faster than any other 4 or 5. If he just reaches 35% from 3pt, which will be easy for him as his shot is already pretty clean with no hitches, he's going to be a 30/10/3 (pts/rebounds/blocks) a night for most of his career. It’s not a post up, box out league anymore. Zion’s game is perfect for the 80’s/90’s. But if he is your #1 option in today’s league, your team will be below average. Zion isn’t on Anthony Davis’s level as a prospect yet look how bad the Pelicans were. If the Pelicans turn their franchise around it will have less to do with Zion and more to do with the quality players/picks they got from LA

Why? He's the most athletic college player we've perhaps ever seen. HE CAN JUMP FROM THE PAINT TO THE 3 POINT LINE AND BLOCK A SHOT. I SEENT IT. He plays so physically at such unique weight and speed. He broke his shoe for freaks sake...lol. That should tell you how much force his knees & ankles are absorbing. It’s like Julio. Just freak athletes and human bodies are not meant for such punishment. Force equals mass times acceleration, and the idea is that if you have more mass than most people, and you can accelerate more quickly than most people, you’re probably causing more force — not just outwardly, but on your own body as well
