FalconsIn2012
Turns out they have more in common than one would think. In 2019, both are bucking an industry trend and will serve as Head Coach & de facto Defensive Coordinator. Both will call the plays on game day. Belichick last called his teams defensive plays in 2010. Seems like an odd decision with his age. So who you got? Who will have a better season as DC: Quinn or Belichick? In my uneducated opinion, these are the two best defensive coaches in football. Should be a fun year ADAMSVILLE GYM

Tribal Chief
Hard to form that opinion. The Falcons don’t rock the same defense as Quinn had in Seattle. BB has several veterans on his defense along with the addition of Michael Bennett. BB is much more disciplinary than Quinn from what I’ve seen. The last time Quinn took over as DC for Atlanta good things happened. That’s a tough one to call PokerSteve, ADAMSVILLE GYM, FalconsIn2012 and 3 others

PokerSteve
My take is this defense is going to look like a completely different animal this season from last. So many huge changes, starting of course with Quinn taking over as DC. About five or six games in, this team could start to become pretty dam scary on both sides of the ball. gazoo

LOL that’s some funny shet don’t care who you are He would have been traded for assets last year. No doubt. They didn’t keep Flowers so Vic is certainly gone. But the difference in the 2 units is simple: depth. We have 10 defensive players earning over $1,000,000. The Patriots have 21 players on defense making over $1,000,000 PokerSteve

I don’t think a lot of fans realize the upgrade our defense will get simply by having DQ running game planning for it, and calling the plays. i agree with @Falconsin2012 that DQ is up in same category as Belichick when it comes to defense. Exactly. We're going from a timid beginner in Manuel trying to find his way to an aggressive-minded, SB-winning, detail-oriented coach with excellent rapport with his players, especially the DL guys. gazoo and Atl Falcon

Quinn taking the bull by the horns and assuming the DC role, bringing back Shede in a such a monumental moment in his life, having Bob Sutton to coach up these players like few coaches on the planet can do it, Senat working his butt off this off-season and on and on I could go. My biggest concern I freely admit is Vic Beasley, but if this DL is really good with Quinn as DC and Sutton working with them, I think he'll get caught up in the flow and be an important contributor.
