No Utah Summer League this year.Trae and Huerter won't play but will be there to practice. Fatty Spellman will be there...(I just hope he works on his body). He can be really good for us if he gets his conditioning right.

if you remember in that "dust-up" on Lakers drafting Mo Wagner over Omari Spellman - dirt-bag Rob Pelinka was asking Josh Hart about Spellman looking for Hart to say something negative about Spellman - basically said he is poor in conditioning and getting body in shape.  LOL.

Assuming coaches discretion but these two don't need it IMO.

Yep why risk it. I wanna see the rookies get a chance to shine a bit. Your take on reddish?  I was mistaken: I thought Barrett was dominant on the ACC and ncaa tourney. Not reddish. But I still am hyped we got him.

You do want to see your new toys in action but you have to reserve some restraint and give PT to some guys you are going to need in backup roles or if you are going to have them on the team.

is that typical for a sophomore in the nba?  or just becasue they are good

Guys that already left a mark in their rookie year as a rising star rarely play summer league in their sophomore seasons. That’s usually for the guys that still have something to prove

You are correct. There is an opening. How many games in SL will Trae be in?

Lol none. He finished the season with 19 PPG and 8+ APG, going 24+ PPG and 9+ APG after the All-Star break. Trae doesn't need to go to SL.

Interesting read:

It’s significant that the Hawks invested their top draft pick (via trade) in Hunter, who is more advanced as a defender than playmaker. Their other first-round pick, Reddish, had his jump shot go missing during one season at Duke but his defensive ability was clear. The Hawks traded up to get center Fernando, who may never be more than a rim-runner in the NBA, but is the physical defensive presence in the middle the Hawks have lacked among their young group.
