The guys in our BP are going to think that is a strange strategy.

Im thrilled with the 2 relief pitchers we got. If somehow AA could get us a quality SP in the next half hour i would be beyond impressed. Seriously doubt it happens but ya never know

Still need a starter. Good for AA on actually doing the job he should have done 7 months ago but he likely spent the entire deadline trying to lowball Detroit and missed out on a SP as well.

Having a day game today and a bullpen meltdown was probably the best thing that could have happened to us at the trade deadline.

Huey Lewis was right. Sometimes, bad is good.

Does this mean Flowers is part of the Greene deal? That'd be addition by subtraction.

Exactly!! Hopefully this off-season, he doesn't get content.

No, but it could mean that we're dealing Contreras.

Martin setting up in the 7th/8th for Greene has a sweet sound to me.  This is what I’m thinking:

So you are still projecting Jackson the closer?

So does this shift Jackson back to AAA or more of a low-leverage 7th inning/pre-setup guy.

Starter -> Jackson/Tomlin/Newc -> Martin/Swarzak (Setup) -> Greene Closer is looking much better. With the rest of the dudes for matchup pitching and other managerial non-sense.
