Falcons DE Vic Beasley Jr. told ESPN, "Yeah, I'll definitely be there," when asked Friday if he plans to attend mandatory minicamp in a couple weeks. Beasley politely declined to discuss his reason for skipping out on voluntary OTAs. "I'm just working as hard as I can," Beasley said. "I'm training hard. I'm excited about this season." Falcons coach Dan Quinn was a bit disappointed about Beasley not attending OTAs because "there's nothing like on-the-field stuff." Beasley has been training in his hometown of Adairsville, Georgia, where he's hosting a basketball tournament this weekend to benefit Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He's also been working out in Buford, Ga. with Bud Dupree of the Steelers. Beasley's entering the final year of his deal and is due to make $12.81 million after team picked up his fifth-year option. Quinn, now the defensive coordinator, told ESPN in February he was eager to take a hands-on approach with Beasley to get him back playing at a high level. Beasley led the league with 15.5 sacks in 2016 but registered just 10 sacks the last two seasons.

Did he really just ask him if he was going to be somewhere where it’s mandatory he shows up?

also. IF BUD Dupree is working with chuck smith and VIC BEASLEY IS WORKING WITH dupree that means.... he’s working with with chuck smith

Watching that video...and given it's a short IG video...Vic look a lot smaller to anyone else?

idk.. looks the same to me.

But yea i think we will run more 3-4 sets to get them  (takk and vic) favorable mathcups... Ive had this feeling all summer after hearing Coach Quinn said he was going to try to use them in a different way then we added a guy like bob sutton (used houston and dee ford) yo the coaching staff.

Another thing. This team is full of 3-4 college guys. It wouldn’t be a totally new thing for them

Agreed what else is there to try? Guy like hageman would be perfect to play de as tak or vic rush from backer. Those tackles should not be able to stick with him he is way to quick and fast.(vic)

got to have a couple of moves or a set up gm though.

Every year since 2015 people got on here saying “Vic looks bigger.” Now “Vic looks smaller.” That’s new .

Yea usually he looks like the dang incredible hulk when he shows up.  Maybe it's the video and long sleeves but I swear he looks smaller and makes me wonder about the 3-4 point even more like atljbo mentioned.  Quinn is very specific about his player weights and Takk came in lighter as well.

No biggie, just an observation.

Vic can’t play at his heaviest weight much less lighter or a 3-4, 4-3, 4-2 LB DE. And we paid this cat 12m???? What could we do with 12.5m to make this team better?

We basically already do. 4-3 under is very similar to 3-4. That’s why Quinn takes 3-4 type players. They fit in a 4-3 under. All they have to do is back up off the ball in a 2 point stance and now it’s a 3-4.

It’s the black. Black makes you look thinner.
