Establishing the run

Let Matt PA and this offense will roll.

Can’t run PA with no threat of a run game .. The defense would literally tee off on the QB everytime . Imagine a runner getting a free release off the edge & he doesn’t have to think twice about the ball actually being handed off. The QB would get punished . I don’t care what data says no team is winning a SB or reaching a CCG without a good run game . Good run games punish defenses, they’re reliable yards with less probability of something going wrong & it’s money in the Redzone .

Run the football.  If everybody else says don’t do it, it’s a great opportunity  to exploit a market inefficiency and run the football.  It’s exactly what the Pats started doing  in 2017.  They got bigger up front, drafted a great back and they are a running team now

They never stopped running it. They've always had a strong back. Michel, Blount, Bolden, etc

They did, but they were not a downhill running team for the past 8 years.  But in 2017 they started to get more physical OL, spend draft capital on RB and their run game is back to being downhill and physical

I grew up on 10 to 7 games. Blocking and tackling. Real football.

Alex Karras, Fuzzy Thurston and Jerry Kramer.

"We are running a sweep right on two. Try and stop it."

It is fundamental.

When the Miami Tunas finished their 14-0 regular season they had attempted (that's attempted, not completed) a total of 259 passes for 2235 total yards and 17 touchdown passes.  In fourteen games...

The passing game was ranked 24th in the league.  Their rushing attack and defense were both #1.

Obviously.

You don’t remember that after the strip sack?  He was pissed and yelled at LaFleur “we need to run the f***ing football”

Unfortunately I’ll never forget it...I was there in Houston yelling the same thing. It cost us the Lombardi....something I’ve been waiting on my whole life.

I was there too.  My brother & I were sitting next to the most obnoxious NE fans

Man that shet hurt and it still hurts. I mean I still haven’t gotten over the 1980 Cowboys come back and never will until we hoist the Lombardi
