Wouldn't mind having 2 guys named Max on the Braves starting rotation.

Hes a FA after 2021. He would be 36 at that time though.

Gnats should be sellers this year. We should trade for Scherzer.

Hes awesome, his salary matches that. Hes making $42M a year through 2021. Some of it is deferred through 2028. You'd be paying him for 9 years.

******** 7 hits in 4 innings, what's going on with Max? I'm not home right now.

Nats have an ambush gameplan. They've been jumping all over the first good pitch, mainly fastballs. They aren't letting him get them behind.

Braves bullpen ERA is 3rd best in the NL over the last 2 weeks.

God bless hot streaks. We can do no wrong right now.

He doesn't have it tonight, which makes this his most impressive start of the year. He's been marvelous at damage control, a skill young pitchers sorely need to develop.

Fried isn't sharp tonight

It happens, so I'm not going to worry about it yet. But I also remember that this was the time last year when the wheels came off for Newcomb. Teams adapt in May and June once scouting reports are out for young guys. Our kids will need to adapt, too.

The Nats definitely had a good plan. They jumped at the first good pitch and got Fried nibbling a little bit. Hes basically just struggling with his command tonight.

The only good news is that we're about to get to Washington's bullpen. It's somehow much worse than ours.
