how do you think are we going to replace Steven Means? are you worried about how it will effect the team?

It just shows the same approach they look on the dL last season, (less is more), is foolish.

1.  There are no true studs

2.  There aren’t that many DEs to begin with.

Now it just means that the snaps that means would have taken that would have allowed the two ‘decent’ DEs to rest are gone.  Means more  wear and tear and those guys being gassed at the end of games when they’re needed most.

Means was our best run stopping DE last year and was probably going to be our starting LDE in the base defense. The options now are Beasley, Takk, Cominsky or Odom since Clayborn will likely be the starting RDE in the base. None of them are known run stoppers.

The team was terrible at stopping the run last year. Not exactly high praise.

Might try hageman there too

Means was 6'3 250, so we're looking at guys like Chris Odom and Jacob Tuioti-Mariner to fill this role, I suspect.

Remember, this is for our Base D (5-man front), and Means got 162 snaps as the RDE in the 7 & 9 technique exclusively on run downs.

High hopes for a guy that got a cheap 1 year deal this offseason.
