If you enjoy being called a Nazi, then keep calling Democrats Commies.

Better to call him a racist.  It’s more accurate and he has a meltdown when you do it.

Trump is doing more to make defacto party leaders our of a bunch of freshman Congresspersons when than could have ever accomplished themselves.

And that's the plan. Trump wants AOC, Omar, et al to be the face of the Democratic party. Even when the truth is the party is run by centrists that basically cave to Trump at every turn.

It's really no different than Rove's strategy in Dubya's campaigns. Trump is just doing it in a more boorish and disgusting manner.

Like I said yesterday, it's not just Trump.  Fox News started that bandwagon with endless AOC coverage before she even beat Crowley, and while I don't know the actual size/percentage of conservatives, but definitely the loudest portion started echoing those same talking point against her, attacking her, and creating steve's favorite memes.  Then a perfect storm subsequently emerged of Omar and Tlaib being openly critical of Israel's foriegn policy and influence in American politics, which were immediately decried as anti-Semitic by the evangelical base.

Seriously, there isn't a more perfectly designed Conservative boogie (wo)man than self-described democratic socialists who are critical of Israel.  Stir in democratic leadership still beholden to corporations who also join in smacking this group and you have a completely manufactured group of pariahs.  They hold very little power (compared to senators and/or House leadership) and only represent their districts, yet they've been amplified enormously.

The cherry on top is that all are very active on social media.

He was definitely trying to fuel that fire at first but it became clear almost immediately that he went way too far, put the fight between the Dems on hold, and now they're mostly focused on attacking him instead of each other. This is why he's been going on the defensive about this for the past couple of days and doubling down.

Some people, however, are only focusing on his initial intent since they really want all this to have some sort of deeper strategic goal as to why he keeps pushing this instead of accepting it as the dumb, racist ******** it is.

It definitely seems more plausible that he is an abhorrent primitive piece of poop rather than Sun Tzu and Edith Stern's secret child...

It makes it seem more convoluted than it is to call it "playing 3D chess" when he does something obvious. The left keeps getting hung up on the idea that he'd have to be planning every step way ahead like a genius strategist, so they can say something with obvious intent is instead evidence of stupidity without even having to identify the obvious goal. I mean ****, of course he wants the whole left to defend The Squad, it's just like @Gritzblitz 2.0 said, he wants the fight within the Democratic party to be between the popular, moral progressives willing to deal with racism in the absolute terms it requires, and the simpering, tacitly racist establishment that's going to agree he's racist but tell everyone they have to work with him, anyway. He's not trying to turn the left against Omar; he's trying to turn the left against Pelosi and the establishment going into 2020.

I suggest it's the moderate "blue dogs" that voted with Republicans in the House that Trump wants to alienate most

The biggest difference between Fox and CNN/MSNBC is the people at Fox believe in their **** and want their side to win. To that end, of course they want The Squad to be the face of the Democratic party, for their audience and everyone else. Trump and Fox play with the same box of tools. That in itself makes Trump tremendously endearing to that audience, not to mention he's always fighting the battles they'd want him to fight.

Take everything you think you know and throw it out the window, tabula rasa style. Find a mentor that has it going on and listen, learn, apply.

I could help you but the ends wouldn't justify the means if you do it in bad faith.

The old double standard

Says Warren Buffett. Every rich person that says that is FOS. They can voluntarily do that but rarely if ever do.

I pay my fair share which seems too much Imho, but I am honest enough to say I don't want to pay more.

It's funny how several of them give detailed reason why Trump is demoralizing the Dems and they have it all figured out.

Maybe they need to share this with the DNC because they have no clue.

It's not some ancient secret. It's politics. Both sides have been playing this game forever. The only difference now is that Trump is doing it by tapping into very negative emotions and his followers are eating it up.

The fact that you two seem to be totally ok with the president telling people of color who were born here to "go back where they came from" confirms this. At this point, there is literally no line he can cross that would be too far for you two.

And that speaks to who you are.

Someone says they're perfectly willing to pay higher taxes if it means people will get M4A and free educations.

Right-wing response? Try to chastise them for not willingly paying more taxes for programs that don't exist yet.

Sums up the emptiness of right-wing ideology and thought.

They have the same box of tools because they are actively coordinating with each other.  That’s not speculation, either.  Hannity and other Fox News personalities have bragged about their nightly phone calls with Trump about their programming content.  And there are hundreds of examples of Fox and Friends saying something, and Trump tweeting that exact thing seconds later.  It’s active coordination of their message and agenda.

No thanks!

I mean, Trump could lose their support if he stopped spouting racist attacks and stoped putting children in cages and stopped being a petulant children throwing temper tantrums.  That’s the real telling part, I think.

That's why it matters that he fights the left in a way that's aesthetically pleasing to the right. He invites people to call him a racist but when they do he takes the high road with the deniability he always leaves room for. He fights accusations of racism the way Fox News viewers wish they could do, and they ******* imitate him they love him so much for what he's done for conservatives who are or feel accused of racism.

If that we're the Crux of his statement I would agree with you, but it wasn't.

Bottom line, it doesn't matter the context of what Trump or his supporters say, because the left will twist it into: racism, xenophobia, Islamaphobia, sexism, homophobic, misogyny, etc.

Let's see how that plays out in 2020 because good honest hard-working people are tired of being accused of things they are not just for throwing their site a certain direction

I have a clue for you, it won't play out well.

Trump 2020 in a landslide
