I’m calling it. Zion to ATL!

not much of a Zion in the NBA fan. I just don't see how he'd be THAT dominant

Zion will need to become a better shooter.  A lot of people have compared Z to Charles Barkley which seems a good comparison.

In today’s positionless basketball, these tweener types like Zion can flourish.   Again, he just needs to improve his jump shot.

Elite athleticism mixed with incredible bull strength will translate well to the NBA - even in a 6’6” Body.

Watch Cavs or Lakers land the first pick.

I see the repeat of the Frozen Envelope for the NY Knicks.

Hawks definitely won’t get it, we never have and NBA doesn’t care about ATL.

Hawks probably lose Dallas pick and we end up picking outside top 5.

That would suck.  I hate the “protection” BS on NBA trading future picks.   Make the trade or don’t.   Fairly certain Mavs would have still made that trade with Hawks if there was no option to protect.

I hate it too, it makes trading for 1st round picks worthless.

There should always be real risk calculations with trading first round picks - maybe less trades happen without the protections but sometimes these pick don’t even convey.

I know we are winning the lottery , but just in case we don’t,  let’s get a consensus Top 12 to cover all scenarios for Hawks.

Zion to ATL and then DeAndre Hunter with Dallas’ pick.

Realistically, the NBA will ensure the Knicks get Zion. “Knicks being relevant is good for basketball” BS and all.

And what would be our consolation prize

Well, it gets murky if we aren’t one or two. I think RJ is a no brainer. He’s very nearly just as big a prospect as Zion. If we are in the 5-7 range, I’m going Jaxson Hayes to get the defense on track.

Hopefully then we could take a guy like Coby White to give us a potentially tremendous three guard rotation.

Let’s say we end up with 4th pick, how high could we go by packaging Mavs pick?

Depends on if the team with the #2 pick needs a PG. If they do, you aren’t getting that pick with Morant on the board. A more likely outcome is, we stay put wherever we are and go bpa, or we trade back and do the same thing we did with Dallas. Pry another top 3-5 protected pick next year.

What do you guys think of Bol Bol? His height and wingspan, ability to handle the ball, block shots and knock down 3s is intriguing to me.
