caponine
Good. Now people can go back and see how Tevin Coleman and the running game was absolutely slicing through their D and gashing them. We stopped running and Boom look what happened, no conincidence there. They stopped running him even when he was ran well just like they did with Freeman and it messed up the rhythm and they didnt get it back. In this game He had runs of 16, 18, 7,6 a few smaller gains like 3-6 yards. A few negative runs which is because they kept messing up his rhythm. In the Dallas game he had runs of 14,17,18, 11,7 , and 13 yds. In the GB game both Teco and Ito were absolutely eating but again we stopped running and wanted to pass more. Was he averaging 6 ypc after the first two carries?? Here's how his carries went 2, 16, 6, 3, 7, - 2, - 8, 18, 4, 0, - 2 What an absolute gashing. If you dont think 6 ypc is gashing then idk what to tell you lol proof is right in your face

You need to be hitting the plus side of 4 a lot more often or your run game is ineffective. Negative runs kill drives just like sacks. Freeman, Bell, Gurley, Zeke, Johnson, Mixson etc. all have negative runs but they make up for it. Its a mindset to run, running the ball is not gonna be pretty sometimes its gonna look ugly Edited February 28, 2019 by caponine

Its a mindset to run, running the ball is not gonna be pretty sometimes its gonna look ugly There are boom or bust runners, who get a lot of negative or low yardage plays and then some bigger yardage plays. And there are consistent runners, who might no break as many long ones, but will get you positive yardage most of the time. A huge amount comes down to OL, but those are different style runners. The consistent runner isn't as fun, but he keeps your offense on track more. And a running game in general that has 7 of 11 runs being unsuccessful isn't going to work out. Exactly OL is what makes the difference. No RB can be successful without one, now certain ones can get a bigger gain but its nowhere near consistent. But also he had about 5 or 6 postive runs. They went for 3,4, 6,7. He ran for positive yardage for at least half of his runs
