Sorry I couldn't imbed the tweet. Looks like we just got a bit thinner at OL. Will def be interesting to see how we address the OLine. ryanadonis
I am not sure exactly how much of a difference of talent it was to keep Ty and cut Ben? Its obvious we are about to bolster the interior offensive line.
Cole World
I’m glad the Falcons wasn’t looking at the pff grade.
kiwifalcon
I’m sure this topic is going to go the other way why and what are the Falcons doing. I fear until we sign a big name in FA or Draft the next Steve Hutchinson some will never be satisfied.
Hurry_Up_And_Buy
Why wasn't Ben ever a long term look at defensive tackle? He played pretty well there when given the chance and probably would have only helped given more time in the line-up. We'll miss u buddy! Another Falcon footballer who we only partially put in the best position to win smh. Guys like Garland deserve better from this franchise. Tired of seeing role players being underappreciated here. Corey Peters had more sacks in one year with us Than he's had in three with the cards. How has he flourished? Because he starts for a terrible defense? 1989Fan
Good guy, good story but it is the right move to say goodbye. The franchise did him a favor giving him $3M last season, no reason to feel bad.
Cole World
There are a few G/C’s in this year’s draft. Dalton Risner - can play LG/C/RG/RT Elgton Jenkins - can play LG/C Garrett Bradbury - can play LG/C Erik McCoy - can play LG/C/RG Versatility was the word Quinn used when he explained the resigning of Sambrailo. All four player’s fits that mold.

If the goal is to bring in a new starter and make Wes a primary backup, Garlands old role is basically already filled.
stizz
It is surprising to see the Falcons cut/not resign all these players this early and continue to keep one of the league's statistically worse punters around for 2.5 million. isproab
Well, I'm glad the Falcons are not trying to go into 2019 with virtually the same cast of characters they had in 2018. They were not even close in 2018. No need to bring back everybody because you are scared to go get a replacement. We need upgrades. Give me a young guy that wants it vs a guy that is just looking to ride it out. Not saying that is what Garland is doing. There have been some guys that seem real content and their play has leveled off if not gotten worse. Time for some "fresh blood" so to speak. Knight of God
Story guy loved for his story. Wasn’t very good, although PFF loves him.
TheUsualStuff
Garland was a great story and a very likeable guy. I am sure he will be missed in the locker-room. On the field though, I think he can be replaced with someone who has a bit more upside. I don't think he was under-appreciated at all while here. I think the organization was really thankful for his willingness to do whatever askes to help the team. I wish him nothing but the best, but understand not bringing him back. It’s easier to have good PFF numbers when your fresh and rested for the 10 or less snaps you take in a game as a backup rotational player. using pff numbers for non starters is to me, not an accurate measuring stick.
