I would be very happy if we signed a DE,T, and made a trade for a LG/RG. I heard Donovan Smith will be tagged. I thought he would be the cheaper of the RT FAs like Jawaun James,Daryl Williams and Trenton Brown.

People quickly forget our roster was a favorite to reach the SB just 6 months ago.  Prisoner of the moment much, TATF?

Thats why I love the odds we currently have: + 3000 to win the SB.  If you can afford to lose $1,000 lay the bet on the Falcons

Come on! You know everybody knew we'd go 7-9 back in September!

That's what annoys me. This was a playoff team before the season started. Now, people think this is just some terrible roster. We cut players who were replaced mid season. Most of the FAs we have are roster churn guys. But somehow we're destined for 4-12 in 2019 by some.

We have nine draft picks and $29.4M in cap space. Grady will take $10-15M of that in his new deal. The draft class is slotted at $8M so we will have $6-11M to re-sign some of our key free agents. As you can see, probably no room to add any impactful street free agents, without cutting additional players to free up more cap space. Here are the players currently under contract. We're short two OLinemen, two DLinemen and two cornerbacks that will likely have to come via the draft and UDFA:

  • QB - Matt Ryan, Kurt Benkert
  • WR - Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, Mohamed Sanu, Russell Gage, Devin Gray, Christian Blake
  • RB - Devonta Freeman, Ito Smith, Brian Hill, Jeremy Langford, Ricky Ortiz
  • TE - Austin Hooper, Eric Saubert, Alex Gray, Jaeden Graham
  • OL - Jake Matthews, Alex Mack, Ryan Schraeder, Wes Scheitzer, Brandon Fusco, Matt Gono, Sean Harlow
  • DL - Takk McKinley, Vic Beasley, Jack Crawford, Deadrin Senat, Steven Means, Michael Bennett, Justin Zimmer, Jacob Tuioti-Mariner
  • LB - Deion Jones, De'Vondre Campbell, Foyesade Oluokun, Bruce Carter, Duke Riley, Jermaine Grace
  • FS - Ricardo Allen, Damontae Kazee, Ryan Neal
  • SS - Keanu Neal, Sharrod Neasman
  • CB - Desmond Trufant, Isaiah Oliver, Taveze Calhoun
  • P - Matt Bosher
  • K - Giorgio Tavecchio
  • LS - Josh Harris

We all know we need upgrades on OLine and DLine but you gotta know CB is real thin.

I think Freemans contract is going screw us out of more than any other player. We are going to let Teco walk because of it and Freeman will be injured by game 3. His contract and injury issues are going to ensure our running game is horrible for a few years.

Probably pick up several players that go undrafted and maybe promote some guys on the practice squad. We should have enough players to at least get the games started.. Just hope our injury curse is behind us. Two or three key players go down this season and we may have to forfeit some games :ninja:

This is exactly why Vic at $13MM is absolutely stupid.

It could be argued that Freeman's contract pays him too much, sure.   But I do think Freeman is coming back based on these two videos....  how effective will Freeman be is a bigger question.

You know how we roleplay around here.  On gameday 90% of us fools think we could call a better game on offense than our OC.  I bet most here couldn’t figure out the helmet mic system let alone an NFL playbook.

So again, not really shocked that some around here talk like they know more than the neurosurgeons who devoted a life to the science

And you’ve examined Freeman?

So even if you were a “medical specialist” who “partially owned practices”, then you would know advice without doing due diligence is called malpractice.

LoL. Shows what you know.

we’ve been using one treatment for years and this combination of nondepolarizing paralytic reversal drugs is just as if not more effective.

I literally ******* work with on a weekly basis and contract with Dr Hyman. Don’t know who he is? You wouldn’t know half of the names I’d mention. I can’t break HIPAA, but I see athletes regularly. I was dying recently to not be able to tell you guys who have been my patients.  I personally know staff that have worked with or been on falcons medical staff. I’ve worked with multiple docs in the Atlanta area that are sports medicine specialists. And if you knew your research you know the effects of concussions are cumulative. You can puff your chest and act Internet brilliant all you want, but it’s well known that concussions have negative long term effects and even have immediate effects on reaction time and decision making. You’re not proving any point other than being argumentative. If Freeman keeps running the way he does and sustaining head injuries, his concussions will keep him out of the game longer and his running will suffer more. It doesn’t matter what you think.

Unless you’re proclaiming freeman’s One of your ‘patients’, then your full of ****.

All concussions are different, and you don’t know the severity of freeman’s. Even I as a medical novice know that.

Again, can’t break HIPAA, but you don’t really know anything about Freeman’s concussion. And you would know more about the severity of if you were paying attention when they happened and understood the protocol. Medical professionals talk to other professionals about their patients all of the time.

I pay attention as much or more as anyone in here does. I also understand the protocol more than most novices do.

i’ll say It again, if he’s not your ‘patient’, then you and anyone else in here are full of **** in claiming you know the specifics or the extent of his injuries. It’s all speciation on your part.  And if head trauma injuries are indeed your profession, you more than anyone should know that.

Actually, oftentimes our coaches and front office managers act like -they-... are the ones suffering from too many blows to the head.

Maybe they all need to go thru the concussion protocol before they are allowed to sign players?  Or draft them?
