Why do we never trade anybody?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else wonder about this too? Our FAs always seem to walk in or out unimpeded and by that I mean we're never really trading guy's who're leaving anyway for some sort of additional value other than cap savings. Is this the doing of Dummy-troff? Why aren't we cycling players thru the roster til we find our guys like a normal team? Has the Falcons FO developed that much a reputation of being poor sports or suckers?? We pick up guys off the street, we've put some guys back on the street BUT WE RARELY IF EVER MAKE ANY VALUE TRADES. That's weird right? Is the draft compensation for failed 1st & 2nd round picks THAT appealing?C'mon apologists I know you've got some half-baked excuses stored up just ready to go! Flame-proof I am lol

With words like "Dummy-troff" and "cmon apologists," would anything we have to say even change your mind? Is there a point in debating this when you are already so dug in to Dimitroff being a bad guy and stupid?

OP is fishing for some confirmation bias, but I'm not taking that bait.

Yeah, I was starting to type up a response back but it would be lost on him so...

I'm sorry your feathers are so easily ruffled friend. The point of this was not to debate because the facts leave little to debate about. The point was simply discussion. I just know we have an obscene amount of apologist-type fans on this board who'd rather "go with crowd" on most topics. Idk what kinda guy TD is in his personal life nor do I prefer using the word "stupid". But dumb? I can use dumb all day. Simply because TD has done some pretty dumb stuff since he's been GM. Just wondering if these lack of trades also stems from that same lack of foresight.

Pointing out your bias does not mean my feathers are ruffled. Just so you know, to the rest of us, it looks like your asking for a discussion on how bad TD is, not about trading players.

The main reason is that trades are very rare in the NFL though they are becoming slightly more popular. This isn't MLB where you can trade a player for a 'player to be named later' or a bag of balls, or even simply for cash considerations.

Where TD has done a good job is trading draft picks for veteran players. Gonzo, Samuel, Levitre, Ty, for example, were all brought in for draft picks.

Yep, it isn't about getting upset easily it's about avoiding conversations that we already have seen play out a million times on various subjects.  Simply isn't worth taking the bait.

We've actually been pretty active trading compared to the average team. I don't think there are more than 4 or 5 trades that go down per year.

Really? The trend has been cycling up. Both during the season and the draft. Maybe I should have been more specific. Outside of the 5th we traded for that swing tackle dude. And then trading out of the 2nd round for Dookie a couple years back plus all those 3 day draft trades nobody pays attention to I don't see how any of ours are very significant? I should have said SIGNIFICANT TRADES huh?

Not slightly. Trades are at an all-time high statistically. Both in season and off...

We traded for Tonny Gonzalez and Abraham. Two of the best trades any team has ever done btw.

Ignores every valid comment that would include having a discussion, attacks posters that say this has played out a million times.  Says he wants to have a "discussion", OP logic.

I'm not into "attacking" posters tbh dude. And this is a discussion. You're more than welcome to add your thoughts as well sir.

How many years ago was that? Outside of Levitre who's been crapballs since Shanny left where's the fresh blood?

Ok, well how many impact trades where made last year? Name them. Most of them are minor moves in the NFL, just like the Levitre trade... which actually was a pretty grade trade now that you bring it up.
